Detellier on Laurinaitis (1 Viewer)

Mike said his work ethic is top notch. The guy would be everything we need but aren't going to get. Unless we move up we won't get him. The Pats will jump on him as soon as he hits them.

Why do we lose out on the top LB every year? Man, I wish we could get this guy.
Me need that physical leader in the middle.

Patriots needs include: T,LB,CB

I really believe that the Pats would take a Tackle or a CB before they take a LB. I still think they will take BPA or trade down.

JL is pretty much a goner by #10... but to be honest I don't want him anyway... I'd rather try to trade for Jonathan VIlma, ortake my chances on one of these guys in the later rounds (if they're on the board):

I think we hav a chance to solidify our secondary with that #10 pick by taking Phillips, or even trading out of that spot and picking up a couple more picks in this deep draft.

You make some good points however I really don't know the severity of Vilmas injury so would he be better than taking a great rookie LB? I know our secondary is lacking but we haven't drafted a top LB given the chance in a decade. I know Connor might be worth the #10 spot but he might not. Either way I don't think we can go wrong whoever we take at the 10 spot. If JL is there I do hope we get him but we might as well start looking at the secondary cause thats what we will be picking.

Mike said he is the best LB to come out of the draft and he will live up to expectations. The guy is a tackling machine. Mike D. basically said he is a stud. But he also said New England will take him with the 7th pick.

That is only if we do not trade up above them to six and grab him before them. That is how the draft works. You do not have to sit there and watch the Pats take him at 7. If we want him and he is that good well we need to get our butts up above them and pick the man. Wheel and deal that is what drafts are for. I am not so high on him myself. I would much rather the animal from USC, but as a team and organization we have to find a way to make things happen and sitting on your hands aint gonna get it done.

i would give up our 3rd and 1st for him, the jets can still get gholston at 10

The Pats will grab USC OT Sam Baker in the 1st...

The Bengals will take DT Sedrick Ellis...

JL will be there when we pick, but we won't pick him.

you guys are talking like you know how the draft is gonna go, I been watching the draft for a long time, and it never happens the way "experts" say it will happen, or "expert Mock Drafts" say it will happen, there are always guys falling out and climbing up and a few no names moving ahead of big names, so all this talk about how we gotta trade up to get a guy is premature, and why does everybody have there mind made up that Laurinaitis is the best LB prospect? like if we dont get him, there is no need to draft one at all? I mean I wouldnt be upset with the pick, cause we linebacker help, but I dont have all my eggs in one basket like some on this board appear to have.

It isn't about having all our eggs in one basket. It is about taking the BPA at 10. If that is taking JL then by all means we have to do it. If he is the number one ranked LB and that is what we want, I see no reason not to take him. We have alot of holes on this defense so no matter who we take ( as long as its a defensive player) won't be a wrong move.

Personally, I like Rey Maualuga better than Laurinaitis. Maualuga has the size and speed to plug up running lanes as well as the size to take on offensive linemen. Laurinaitis is no where near 244 pds. Laurinaitis' big claim to fame is that he's the son of Animal.
