NFL Draft Anthony Richardson could very well be in play if Saints land a late 1st for Payton. (1 Viewer)

Watch the way that Richardson can just “flick” the ball effortlessly downfield on a frozen rope… watch how he runs the ball like the best ball carrier on the field… his physical ability is really pretty much unmatched!

There are a lot of other plays outside of highlight reels though… and in some of those AR looks turrible!

we have to change the offense if we pick him. I would like the pick but I wonder what is the difference between Richardson and Dorian Thompson Robinson? DTR seems to have similar measurables to Richardson and would be available in the 4th or 5th round.

He's really intriguing and it's going to fun to watch how it plays out.

I think there is a less than 10% chance that the Saints would draft a QB that high who started so few games.

Richardson is a superior athlete to Levis.
I saw an article talking about how they both went to a camp or something (maybe the Manning camp)
And guys were blown away by Richardson skill-set.
Levis was there too and impressive as well…

…but from what I gathered, it was Richardson… then Levis… then everyone else

Give me the guy who has the Josh Allen/Justin Herbert comp and has shown leadership on his team. He also played through the injury that MT sat this season out with.

It doesn't matter anyway, Levis might go 1 overall.

I don’t think so. Isn’t Taysom a half field read QB? We already call plays for him yes?

I’d love to take on Richardson as a project, would make the season so much more enjoyable watching him develop.

His ceiling is Cam Newton athleticism with a Josh Allen arm.

Sadly I think by draft time he’ll go top 15 due to the reasons mentioned above.

Pedigree and experience vs the best competition at the college level.

That’s why this isn’t a Levis thread… he’s got no shot of being there when the Saints pick.

Richardson (at this point at least) has a shot to be on the board when the Saints pick… even if they don’t trade Payton.

Yes very good thread. I think he would be perfect in Baltimore. They are so great at developing QBs lately, especially ones who are athletic but raw. It's a talented team and they could keep the offense very basic and still win.

I’ve heard Underhill and others speak to how Dennis Allen would like a mobile QB to lead his ball control offense (even though he went with Andy Dalton down the stretch!?!?). That’s why the Saints were prepared to go “all in” in for Watson.
QB is a massive need for the Saints, and things are looking like the Saints either get a late 1st rounder for Payton, or they get stuck sitting on him and their early 2nd rounder…

…In either case, they could find themselves staring at Anthony Richardson on the board when their pick comes up.

Richardson is an absolute freak when it comes to tools and ability! He’s big, strong, fast, has a cannon for an arm, and runs like a RB. He should only help himself in pre-draft workouts, because his upside is OFF THE CHARTS!

However, if you’ve seen him play in games, you know that he’s erratic and his accuracy is below average. He tends to hold the ball too long, and when he misses, he misses BADLY!

Still though… Scouts will drool over his tools… and with Jalen Hurts leading an offense that looks darn near unstoppable when he’s healthy… other teams will want that.. and Richardson has that ability in spades!

He’s got the highest ceiling of any QB in the draft class.
He also has a very high chance to BUST and be relegated to a poor man’s Taysom Hill role at best.

In the games I’ve seen where Richardson has flashed… he looks UNBELIEVABLE!

But when he struggles, he looks like he’s got no business playing QB.

With Dennis Allen as HC, fans don’t know what to expect… and I don’t even think DA knows what the plan is…!

But Richardson is out there… and someone will invest a higher pick than most think in his immense abilities.
Richardson was trash on the field overall as a passer. He’s got a very very long way to go and hill to climb to be even respectable. This is still the NFL and you must be able to throw consistently in order to win consistently. That’s a wasted first round pick with him. This draft there are only 2-3 QBs possibly worth drafting in first round and he’s not one of them.

I’m a Gator fan and I watched him over the last 2 seasons. All you said is correct. This years Gator team wasn’t the typical Gators team. No real star at TE and not a lot at WR. The Ol was also weak. He does have the most upside but he has limited starting experience, but more than Lance had. He had a game 2 years ago where he ran and threw for a 75 yard touchdown. I said all season I would love to have him. He’s 6’4 235 he’s a 4:40 guy who can threw it 70 plus yards. He may have a redshirt year but he could be special.

Mike D said he was wowed by Richardson

I’ve never heard anyone say the Saints wanted a mobile QB, as a matter of fact they went with the least mobile QB in the league with two mobile guys on the bench because Dalton fit the O better. Also we just kept the same play caller for next season. I think this is more of a “you want this guy” thread.
