Saints are 1st place in the NFC South thru 9 weeks after Saints Won + Falcons/Bucs losses (1 Viewer)

It’s very possible that we’ll be 7-4 or 8-5 in 2-4 weeks and some won’t like it because they don’t want to see Allen win games which is contrary to their perception of him as a HC
If the Saints are 7-4 or 8-5 in 2-4 weeks, I can assure you I will be pleased. Problem is, I just don't think this guy's going to accomplish that. We will see.

I understand. I really do.
If fact, I would give DA the walking papers after the Saints win the division.
Saying that, I’m still gonna enjoy a season where the Saints win the South and at least make a playoff appearance.
Same here. :9:
I mean, what other choice do we have? If this was the 70s Saints we’d all be on Cloud 9 right now.

All we can do is enjoy the season for as long as it lasts.

But i will not rule out a DA firing if the playoff loss is terrible.

Okay I came out of that game feeling pretty negative about what I saw but as awkward as it looked at least they won.

Next week we meet another team with a with young QB coming out of nowhere. Let's see if we learned any lessons. I hope so because the Vikings are whole different animal than what we faced today.

Six and four is going to feel pretty good.

Sure! That's our season. Beating the Tyson Bagent led Bears.

Show me a successful head coach who declines 4th and 2 in favor of 3rd and 12. It just doesn't happen. It's just not even close to being a good football decision. It's honestly terrible.
His name is Sean Payton. DA ain’t the first coach to do that and he won’t be the last. A lot of you are dragging that decision b/c of the person who made it and not based upon the personnel on the field. DA trusted his “elite D“ would hold up on a 3&12. He also likely was aware that his opponent had nothing to lose and would probably go for a 4&2, since the Bears QB had been running everywhere. Plus our defense had given up 4th downs in different games this year.

DA had faith in his defensive unit just like Sean used to have faith in his offensive unit to convert on 4&shorts. Don’t forget that our defense did actually keep the Bears from converting on a 3&12 a few series later. It resulted in a missed field goal. DA made the right call. The players didn’t execute the call right.

We barley defeated the worst team in football at home.

Our coach made multiple god awful decisions that should have cost us the game.
This same sentence can be used on almost any contending team this season, cause nearly every winning team has lost to a pitiful one so far. This is the NFL. Any woeful roster can beat a decent to great roster on any Sunday afternoon or night. It’s been happening for decades now and will continue to.

And as for the folk who keep harping on us causing five turnovers yet only winning by a few points, I seem to recall a playoff game, where we gave up multiple turnovers and the 49ers only won by a few points. Guess what, that didn’t make us feel any better. We lost the game. Style points only matter at the collegiate level. Losing pretty or winning ugly means nothing in the NFL. The only thing that matters is securing the W any legal way you can.

Does anyone else remember all the games we LOST because Sean Payton made bad coaching decisions?

I remember many, many times over his tenure.

Allen had a pretty rough day with the “in-game” decisions. But we won.

I’ll take that.

It's still the win in the standings and that's all that matters.

It’s a damn good thing divisional standings are not based upon editorialization
Yes, the standings say we're in first place, but our opponents in our wins are 12-31.

I'm seriously not trying to be negative, but things need to be level set. NFC South division championships are worth nothing. All this does is give us a one and done playoff spot and a worse draft pick. And maybe saves DA and Carmichael's jobs.

Good news is that our Saints are in first, bad news is that DA, PC, and ML probably aren’t going anywhere without a complete collapse the rest of the season. With that schedule they have, I can’t imagine that happening.
