Saints are 1st place in the NFC South thru 9 weeks after Saints Won + Falcons/Bucs losses (2 Viewers)

First place all alone and SSF is screaming to fire the head coach.

Being in the lead right now doesn’t tell the story of the real state of our team.

We’re playing an uber-easy schedule with key players missing for every opponent while we’ve be relatively healthy for this time of the season. Several of our losses so far this season have been by the whipping boys of most other teams that our opponents have played.

And, our foes in the NFC South have been as decimated & anemic as any other teams on our schedule. Yet we have only a ONE GAME lead over a team that has already had to replace their starting quarterback.

Yes, the Saints may find a way to pull out the NFC South crown this year. But it won’t be because we are a true playoff contender, nor are we getting the most out of the pool of talent that we have on our team. Every Saints fan wanted Dennis Allen to be the real thing and have him give us some legitimate hope for the future of this team. But no one feels that way about the Saints under his lead.

I for one don’t blame anyone who is still calling for his removal from the job. Do you see anything positive coming from this regime for the future?

I understand. I really do.
If fact, I would give DA the walking papers after the Saints win the division.
Saying that, I’m still gonna enjoy a season where the Saints win the South and at least make a playoff appearance.

So what I’m understanding is that many Saints fans prefer to be 1-7 in a terrible division with the hopes that our coach gets fired and maybe we’ll land a better coach. What if we land another DA?
I think most fans want a team that’s capable and has a legit chance to compete for a championship…. And most of us realize…. That isn’t happening with DA and Pete at the controls. So what’s the point of rolling out a team that’s gonna hover around .500. Barely miss or make the playoffs…. Just to get a crap draft pick…. And never get a staff in here that’s capable of taking this team to the next level? It would be completely different if this team was talent deficient…. It’s far from that.

I detest unreasonable negativity after wins. Especially the killjoy element, as does our target audience. There is entirely too much of that going on, and it is killing the atmosphere here.

That being said, Allen made some absolutely poor decisions, no doubt.

Just be real careful about jumping into any celebratory/positive threads and raining on the parade or giving celebrants your self-obligatory reality checks, because it could mean a trip to banned camp.

SMH at fans who fully cannot see that the 1st place position, albeit very temporary, is in spite of the HC and OC, not because of them.

I'm pulling for the team, and there's nothing I'd like to see more than a 5, 6 game winning streak. But do you really believe that's going to happen with this boneheaded HC? And this OC?

It’s very possible that we’ll be 7-4 or 8-5 in 2-4 weeks and some won’t like it because they don’t want to see Allen win games which is contrary to their perception of him as a HC
If the Saints are 7-4 or 8-5 in 2-4 weeks, I can assure you I will be pleased. Problem is, I just don't think this guy's going to accomplish that. We will see.

Same here. :9:
I mean, what other choice do we have? If this was the 70s Saints we’d all be on Cloud 9 right now.

All we can do is enjoy the season for as long as it lasts.

But i will not rule out a DA firing if the playoff loss is terrible.
