every year...
it was too hot, it was too cold, there wasn't enough rain, there was too much rain. the wind was blowing to hard from the north (ok, i made that one up).
has there been a season in the last 20 years that hasn't had one of these instances that kept the price higher?

Yeah, the whole wind from the north thing (but I totally get your point).

They finally figured that if you start the season with prices in the low teens, by mid season, you will be at what your previous starting point was years past.

Side note, has anyone asked about a dozen crabs? $70

there is a guy here in Gonzales that i sometimes get seafood from, he has them $20/doz right now..
not sure where he gets them..

Captain Sid's sometimes has "light" crabs for $1-3/ea. Yes they're light, but it's still a good price if you just want some crabs.

I am also not feeling so bad about my crawfish allergy right about now.

Actually I think they had two very strong crops in a row the last couple of years.

This year is gonna be rough.

Yes and the worst part is I only developed it in the last 5-6 years. For a while, I could take Claritin or Benadryl before I ate, and I would be OK, but that's failed a few times, so now I am SOL.

Oh, I definitely know. I'm allergic to tomatoes. I actually have a supply of EpiPens.

My oldest hasn't had since 1. She 20. And still (as of last blood work by allergist) deadly allergic to dairy.
