I was under the impression that CB was our greatest strength, with a top #1 and very good #2/#3. Was that wrong?

Lattimore’s status with the team is in question due to personal stuff, Adebo’s contract will be up soon also.

Besides, it’s okay to accentuate your strengths, especially at a position where you’re constantly trotting out 3 or 4 guys on a given play, with your current top 3 all having had injury issues at some point recently.

I had a reaction to that, too, but prolly for a different reason. I mean, as a wife -- albeit one who does not look like Hagrid -- I don't think we should really drag them into the insults.
Was that the big trollish fella who lived in the shack on the Hogwarts campus? He is a cool dude.

Legitimate question....can he play safety?

He's not elite in anything, and his long speed leaves a bit to be desired. I'm always iffy about proday #'s vs combine #'s as the tracks at the school are sometimes faster than the NFL situation.

Malcolm Jenkins ran a 4.48 at OSU but was definitely more of a 4.52 guy, and I think Kool-aid falls in that. You can see it on film, he'll get stacked by guys with deep speed and he'll likely lose in those scenarios. So he's got a high floor, but I don't see a high ceiling guy or someone who's going to be top tier on the outside. He looks like a slot guy for the most part, and so now I'm curious could he transition to S if necessary?

There's never been anyone more interested in moving a corner to safety than Ellias 😅

Doubtful though. This guy played almost exclusively on the outside. On paper he may have the ability to make the move, but I don't think the upside is high to turn him into a project. Corner is the more premium position in this league. I think in all honesty he just gives us flexibility if Lattimore decides he wants out, or if we can't afford to pay Adebo. I wasn't thrilled with corner selection obviously, but the value was outstanding so I get it. I preach BPA every single draft so I'd be silly to get upset over getting such value.

Corner is my favorite position and I LOVE the pick. I also don’t think Lattimore is going anywhere. At least not this year.

Back to the topic at hand... if I were a betting man, I'd say Kool-Aid is being brought in for the nickel role so that Taylor can move back to the outside in place of Shon or Adebo in the case of injury/trade/free agency. We were awful at the nickel last season and it feels like such a waste to have Taylor there when he has so much natural ability on the boundary.
