Pat Kirwan said he heard Carr didn’t want to do Saints contract restructure (141 Viewers)

Seductive, charming, repulsive are all in the eye of the beholder. They are all subjective and all vary from person to person. The entire city of New Orleans does not have the same impression and opinion of Carr, nor do Saints fans either.

Since it's a matter of subjective opinion, no one is right or wrong regarding that. It would be helpful if people understood that.

People who are anti seductive usually have trouble noticing anti-seductive traits themselves.

Welp…this thread just got undesirable. Exits stage right

I don’t disagree. I ended up deleting my thread where I tried to explain it but, Carr suffered from being anti seductive.

Imagine going to china and not engrossing yourself in their culture. Eating with a fork etc. There’s no better way to endear yourself to a foreign place than by adapting their culture, trying to speak their language etc. The ability to charm your audience is a skill he lacks.

Carr came here and immediately refused to engross himself in New Orleans. Now he may not have done it on purpose but it didn’t help.

Complaining is also anti seductive and the next event that soured fans was when he complained about Olave not running his route correctly.

His instances of being anti seductive are piling up and thus the fan base is disenchanted by him. Winning would help, absolutely but it’s too late for him to be liked.

Is what it is. I just used the wrong words by saying repulsive but I simply meant his personality isn’t seductive or charming and it instead pushes people away.
I don't think it was refusing, like " I'm just not going to do that" I think ( Just an opinion) that he was just non-aware. From what I get DC is a big family guy so running around town eating and participating in all the local happenings is not something he did in LV.

Like I said in an earlier post , I don't need for DC to tell me he loves me, I don't need him to do a presser wearing a Mr Bingle T-shirt with powdered sugar all over his face while holding a crawfish in 1 hand and a roast beef Po-boy in the other. I need him to help my Saints win GAMES

I don’t think most logical thinking people do. I certainly don’t care about him eating at Chipotle etc…but I’ve read the art of seduction by Robert Green. I recognize the disenchantment and I recognize the reason for it..I’m just pointing it out..but it’s not because I have a personal feeling about Carr lol.

I’m just applying what I learned from the book. Which I’d highly recommend to anyone. Along w/ 48 laws of power and laws of human nature

Read the character of the Charmer and then read the types of anti-seducers and then see if you don’t have a “ohhhhhh that’s what’s happening” moment.

I'll fold. For full transparency I was holding a Larry Cipa too, but three bad 70's QBs can't touch that!
LOL man I still have early Saints players ingrained in my mind like 3rd string QB Gary Wood and Ernie Wheelwright . I need de-programmimng

LOL see , I am suspicious of people that from the get go try too hard to be local. like it's contrived and disingenuous

I recognize seduction traits from a mile away, because it's almost always hand in hand with narcissism.

I also recognize anti-seductive traits, because they are people that are upfront and what you see is what you get. They also get their sense of self worth from inside instead of seeking it externally from other people or things.

Seduction is inherently manipulative and predatory, so anti-seduction is the opposite of manipulating or preying on people.

You can put me firmly on team anti-seduction. All day, every day.

In support of Widge I decided to provide a peak behind the paywall. This quote is from the article released by Underhill upon the restructure.

There’s also another truth. The Saints ended up exercising Section 6 in Carr’s contract, the one that allowed them to restructure Carr’s deal without any further agreement. Things played out like this because there was no cooperation on the other side of the table. There were even rumors swirling that Carr wanted the freedom to explore his options — that he wanted out, and not the other way around. He might have even worked with them to make it happen.

That last sentence isn’t something we have all the details on, but it’s strong enough to say it here. And it sets up for an interesting future between the two sides.

Dudes got no reason to write about that. The fact that it’s being echoed by multiple other people who aren’t known for clickbait supports widge more than it supports the other arguments.

Dips back into the shadows.

One of the anti -seducers is referred to as the moralizer.

The Moralizer.

  • The character of the Moralizer is rigid.
These are people who follow fixed ideas and try to make you bend to their standards.
  • They want to change you, to make you a better person, so they endlessly criticize and judge — that is their pleasure in life.
  • In truth, their moral ideas stem from their own unhappiness and mask their desire to dominate those around them.

Chuckles. It’s 12:05. I must be getting to bed. Goodnight Moralizer

I have no idea where the first 17 pages of this thread have gone.

What I can say is that I am tired of having to root against my QB (Carr, Hill, JW, etc.). I'm tired of having to root against my team.

I'm tired of local and national beat writers stirring up drama for clicks and ad revenue.

I want to root for the success of the Saints and I want to root for success of whoever the starting QB is for the Saints. And im tired of apologizing for that to people who pay $10+/mo to be annoyed by all things New Orleans Saints.

True story.

I spoke to a lady today and she was very pleasant to talk to. She was sweet with her words, even went as far as to say I was one of the rare techs w/ a personality and that I must be making my father proud.

I returned the pleasantness and told her she was quite charming.

Surprisingly she rejected it, and said charmers are manipulative, which I agreed that it is a form of manipulation but not always bad.

So…I googled her. Guess what I discovered?

Her name was attached to a lawsuit against Walmart. In the lawsuit she claimed she had a permanent stutter, eons of back aches and a bunch of other inflated injuries. Even more interesting her last name was that of someone famous and I playfully asked…was she related and she said that’s my grandfather.

I being gullible said oh wow, then she said no..that’s not my grandfather because if it was I wouldn’t be working here…I’d live off his money.

The lawsuit and that comment revealed a woman who would try to get over if it meant her comfort and yet her rejection of being charming and calling out the manipulation as though it was some moral evil actually covered up her own immoral actions.

In other words the people who act holier than thou are typically the most corrupt.

Mr I’m such a straight shooter likely has some skeletons…they always do 🤣. Putting themselves over others just makes them feel better.

I’m a good person because I wouldn’t do that thing and since a bad person would…that makes me good.

Unfortunately, a lot of people I know do have a New Orleans complex of sorts. I left more than 20 years ago. My career boomed, I found myself very happy on top of it. I love where I live (Montgomery County Texas) and was excited to share that with friends and family. A handful get it and are happy for me. The others are quick to tell me how much they love everything New Orleans and hate everything not New Orleans. It's like a defensive mechanism kicks in. My happniess here doesn't come at the expense of New Orleans. It's like loving children, there is plenty of love to go around and you don't have to have a favorite. And if my kids love Chipotle (and they did), I'd stop and get that for them in spite of the fact that I might want a Mothers Po Boy, and I wouldn't think twice about it. Carr is a family man, a man who openly speaks to his faith. Thats all good and fine with some, as long as he does it as they allow him to.
