Saints making a push to sign Cooper Kupp [Cooper Kupp signs with Seahawks to a 3-year, $45 million deal]

Keenan Allen and Tyler Lockett are both still available and have played far more games over the last 3 years than Kupp has. If we’re going to sign an old guy, one that has a touch of durability would be preferred.
I like Kupp, but can’t argue with you on this. Kupp at $15 mil per seems high.

Don't care what Olave thinks. He should work on being more durable and not get so many concussions. If he can't fix that, he needs to retire.
Olave got a concussion while playing just two games with Rattler. And in the game that he didn't get a concussion (LAC), he had to leave the game to get checked out for one. A change in QB doesn't seem to help him a great deal in that regard.

I think he should put on about 10-15lbs of muscle as well. Even if he loses a step, he'd be more durable and since he's a precise route runner and tactician. He'd be lethal at 205lbs. .
IMO his biggest issue is how incredibly narrow he is (8th percentile wingspan). His shoulders and shoulder pads are practically nonexistent and offer him zero protection. His head is by far the largest target to hit and even when he smacks the ground he doesn't have anything stopping his head.

No idea why we traded so much to move up for him.

Sigh..

Desperation since we needed a WR. Jameson Williams was coming off a bad injury and has toothpicks for legs so he probably wasn't as high on the board. Looking back, we probably should have went in a different direction. I know I didn't have Olave high on my WR rankings b/c of his slight build and lower than the average RBS.

The only thing he can do is wear the special needs helmet bubble or retire. You can't make your head/brain less susceptible to repeat traumatic injury after initial injury.

I was joshin... but I am in the camp that he and Tua should call it quits. They're both sadly and tragically going to pay for this later.

He should wear the Guardian cover and he is likely always going to be more susceptible. But, if he bulked up and strengthened his neck muscles, it might help. If he was heavier he would be taking as much of the blow and the stronger neck muscles should help him avoid having his head slam into the turf. But, there is no guarantee any of that will help. It's certainly better for his long term health for him to retire, but these guys are looking at generational money that can set their families up for generations. It's really hard to turn that down for the possibility of long term health issues. Especially if it's someone that didn't grow up with money.

That is the hardest thing to figure out with the draft...
You don't know what any player will be in the NFL until they are in the NFL...

Yeah, look at Devonta Smith. He's about the same height, but weighs 17 pound less than Olave, and he hasn't really had the same issues as Olave with concussions. Although Smith did actually have a concussion last year against the Saints.

I was asking since it's been dead silent and Becton seem to be going to the highest bidder.
I'm only on the first page of this thread while typing this, but I can't find any news on Becton at all. I searched yesterday and the day before for any talk of Becton visiting or talking to any teams. I can't find anything. Either I really suck at searching for sports news or Becton is running silent and deep.

Maybe he's asking for more than anyone is willing to pay?
