A few weeks ago, Moscona on 104.5 in BR was talking up taking a flyer on Ewers in the middle rounds if available. Talked up the guts thing, with the injury and Arch just beyond his shoulder and all.

I won't have a problem with a middle-round QB at all. All of them occupy the same space talent-wise to me. Just not the first two rounds, please, with so many other needs and people to pay!

Ewers to me is just a wasted pick even in the mid rounds. I see nothing there that looks the part of a top tier NFL QB. As a huge Texas Longhorns fan Ewers just never looked like a guy that would be a good NFL QB. Maybe a decent backup over time, but I don't see anything more. Would rather just roll with the QB's we have.

My brother lives in Austin and tells me Texas fans couldn't wait for him to be gone.

Edit: Although to be fair, I remember meeting a Louisville fan while on vacation many years ago who told me the same thing about Lamar Jackson. Kind of crazy especially in hindsight.
