What about FA WR Terrace Marshall?

Sometimes the size, speed, physical freak thing just doesn't translate to the NFL. While I wish him the best, I would be totally shocked if he became a relevant WR in the NFL.

Something ain’t right about him. All the physical tools to succeed but never does. No matter the coach or offensive scheme (so far).

It's crazy. He was the 5* recruit on that LSU team with Chase a 4* and JJ a 3*. It's a good lesson that recruiting rankings aren't the end all be all. Cam Ward being a 0* recruit is another example, but we all know if he was going to Bama, he would have been a 5*.

The last time he was decent was at LSU, that's only because he was playing with Jefferson and Chase with Burrow at qb.

Any WR from high school would of played decent as a WR3 on that team.

It is why i.dont understand the whole obsession some people have over high school players, look at all the sheets or what have you. It doesnt mean much.

It has it's place to assess prospects, but it's very subjective. Ranking recruiting classes is probably the main issue. It would never happen b/c there is too much money in it, but if they went away from rankings/*s and just went to measurables and descriptions of strengths/weaknesses and areas of improvement, it could make assessing these players and better system for the teams and players.

That's a bit unfair, the reason he was a 1st rounder was because his last year at LSU (JJ, Chase and Burrow were NFL rookies in 2020) in 7 games he averaged over 100 yards and had 10 TD's in limited action (if memory serves he got hurt)......but it certainly hasn't translated to the next level....

Actually, Terrace Marshall Jr. was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the second round (59th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft.

And IIRC some posters here were steamed that the Panthers allegedly jumped in front of us for him. I'd say if that were true, we can only be grateful.

Ah, thanks for the correction, I could have sworn he was drafted in the 1st but I'm getting old and forgetful.....
