Prefer type of coach? An offensive, A defensive, or a middle guy? (9 Viewers)

There is a guy named Marv Levy who was a head coach for a couple decades after breaking in as a special teams coach. Went to 4 straight Super Bowls.
Levy was a HC in the CFL before the NFL . No successful NFL HC was ever just a ST coach without coaching either offense or defense. Either a position coach or an OC or DC

If we continue to win, it would be hard to deny Rizzi the job. That would mean we could keep Kubiak and all that staff and may or may not change something on defense.

Yeah I have a google machine also and can spit out facts that aren’t directly related to the context of the conversation.

If we didn't have KK and a very good offensive staff I would say no doubt an offensive coach. Also with our O staff it would give Rizzi a better chance, not saying he's the guy. If we did go with a D huy I would hope ML strongly suggests that guy retain the whole offensive staff for lots of reasons

I'm going to say defensive. Because we have Kubiak running our offense. If we bring in a offensive coach I would think he would want to run his system, not Kubiak's.

I feel like after all the injuries Allen held Kubiak back from running what he wanted.

Motivator all the way. Doesn't have to be Rizzi. But I'm not hung up on offense or defense.

You find the guy who can coach/ motivate, doesn't really matter their positional background. The right Head Coach will put the right people in place to succeed.

What I'm kind of intrigued with is, if Rizz is named HC after a search, does he keep the current staff or brings in a staff.

Any outside coach we hire likely brings in his own staff.
