2009 Saints Road Trips - First Thoughts (1 Viewer)

I am definitely psyched about seeing Philly's early American history. Ben Franklin is one of my heros (I'm a dork, I know!). This trip is a no-brainer. I haven't been to NYC in about 8 years so I'm also happy about spending 4 or 5 days there beginning the Monday after the game. Is it true that I would probably want to get club tickets to avoid getting harrassed with my Saints gear on? My girlfriend is not at all a diehard and just doesn't want to put up with that crap - neither do I to be honest. It's more about the trip and seeing cities.

Im not goin to attempt to lie to you. Philly fans are rowdy. The population attending games are usually 75%+ drunk, so with that comes plenty of "jerks" (mod friendly). I only go wearing my saints gear with my friends who are birds fans...cause im usually in a group of like 9-10 people who are 25-30 yrs old. I met up with some outstanding people at our SR roadtrip to Tampa last season and im going to be getting in touch with them asap to see if they're gonna come up here cause i know we talked about it briefly. I've been to games where im not bothered by anyone with my Saints gear on, but ive never been to a Saints-Eagles game and i see how the Birds fans harass their opoonets fanbase every game. It's not pretty.... However, the crowd i hang with are a very nice group of people. We bring a GREEN school bus to tail-gait and play beer pong n grill before every home game and blast 70's-90's music til game time ha! Im still encouraging everyone to make this trip because this city is amazing. The city runs tours through it fairly often and its very cool to get caught up in the history.

Post game - The night life here is rediculous....CLUBS...BARS....The people...BARS! All are great! And the infaemous Philly Cheesesteak is something i wont even talk about..its just something you gotta try on your own. Come on downnnnnnnnn

I have to wait till the dates come out before I can decide what road games I will be at this year. I'm planning on Charlotte for sure if at all possible and probally Atlanta.

made the trip to charlotte last year had a blast at jread's party, i'm going back there or st louis this year i'll have to check schedule.

Very. Montreal is like a 6 1/2 hour drive from Buffalo. I've never been to Montreal, but I hear it is a great place. If you are going to Niagara Falls, go to the Canadian side. Outside of one casino, there is literally nothing to do on the American side. And that is not just making fun of the area. There is nothing there. It's also a really high crime rate in Western New York. Cross the border and you'll have a much better time.

Actually..niagara falls american has some good places to eat.pete's market house on pine avenue is good for surf and turf, however, the downside is that the lines are long on the weekends (friday/saturday). also..the Como Lounge has some darn good italian food..(near Sal Maglia (sp)) stadium....best sausage/onions/peppers i've ever had..and the service is rock solid.

p.s.-are we going to make plans to do something when the Saints come marching into B-low? I plan on having a little gathering at my home on the saturday before the game.

Last year I debated on Washington or Denver and went with Denver. This year Washington is back on the list so I'll probably end up taking that trip this year since i have a 2nd chance at it. 2nd runner up for me is Miami (if the weather permits) All the other road games are very appealing this year. We have all great home games! (-Detroit)

COMO!!! Wow. I haven't been there in forever!!! That place is great.

If you're doing a thing at your house, I'd definetly be down for that. Can't wait for that game. Be nice not to have to drive a few hours to catch a game like I did for the Lions last year. When was the last time we were here? Wasn't it 2003?
