2021 CFB Prospects to Follow (3 Viewers)

3 eye-popping stats on Hendon Hooker

65.8%- career completion percentage

9.5 ypa-- average (8 is good)

170-- career qb rating.

at 6'4 220lbs he has a really good build too.

Compare those numbers to guys like Dak Prescott and Russell Wilson in college.

I just started really diving into the skill position players. So far the guys im really familiar w/are Jahan Dotson, David Bell, & Drake London at the WR position. I think those dudes would fit our O in their own unique way to the letter. But another guy i really like & is WKU WR Jerreth Sterns.

@bleedit1960 mentioned him when I posted about Bailey Zappe in the beginning of this thread. Im just piggybacking on that & saying that i think Sterns would also be a legit weapon i a Sean Payton O. Fromhis build to his skillset, that dude reminds a lot of of Steve Smith Sr. Keep an eye on that dude as the process plays out.

Sterns has a little cole Beasley in him.

I see a ton of Smith Sr traits, & i do see a sprinkle of Beasley. But after watching the Champ rematch game between WKU & UTSA, i think the most accurate comp for Sterns is Manny Sanders.

Man…WKU went down swinging & Zappe to Sterns were KO shots all game long. Im 100% a Howell guy, but Zappe & Sterns on Day 2 of the draft would be all gravy to me.

I kinda feel ya, but that highlight really just showed bad defense. In the NFL no one is generally going to let you run right by them then fair catch an underthrown deep ball in the Endzone for a TD.

I like David Bell in Rd 2, but I want Williams or one of the other top WRs in Rd 1. I'm done with bargain shopping college WR talent. We need 2 new receivers to be our 2/3 or our 1/3 (in case MT never comes back to being old MT).

I'm with you on Zappe.

As of right now he is my top 2nd round pick.

Admittedly I need to see more of sterns though, but from what I've seen he seems like a premier slot guy.

Boy I wish they could somehow come away with a 'slightly above average wr" in this draft like Chase Claypool.🤣

A guy putting up 16 ypc on 37% less targets than Justin Jefferson in 2021

Jefferson-15 career TDs
Claypool-12 career TDs.

What world does some people live in?

Don't get the Jefferson over Claypool hype even in their rookie years considering Jefferson also had the luxury of playing alongside Thielen and the 2020 #2 leading rusher in Dalvin Cook who had 1500 yards that year to pull away coverage.

I'd say Claypool is just about even or better than any 2020 wr all things considered.

I'm still going to go with BMI and the big we trend in evaluating top rookie wrs as @harschman points out.

Subtle move but watch how Zappe set that up with the pump fake to make the Safeties bite.

Perfect.
