2023 Schedule Release Leak-O-Rama [FINAL SCHEDULE IN FIRST POST] (1 Viewer)

As far as prime-time games for the Saints, the number is misleading. Of the three "prime-time" games, two are on Thursday night, which have the fewest number of viewers but the greatest competitive disadvantage to the teams playing. Fortunately, one of our Thursday night games is after the bye week. I suppose with scheduling the NFL has some idea of what it is doing, but it too often fights the last war, giving Sunday and Monday night games to teams that used to be good but no longer really are like the Raiders and Chicago, and even Denver and New England. I understand that these teams have a certain national following, but I like to watch teams ascending (say Detroit) rather than teams in decline.

The most interesting aspect of this schedule is the possibility of seeing the top four quarterbacks picked in this year's draft.

I’m interested to see how the Bears and Raiders rate. I know they’ve been championship organizations, but it’s been nearly four decades since they were competitive. Too the Bears credit, they’ve been competitive at times, but the Raiders have done nothing.
At some point, it’s like the “Old Man Yelling At Clouds” when these reporters are defending why they get the prime slots.
And the Cowboys aren’t far behind. I think we’re at the point where there’s a good bit of reporters at ESPN were toddlers when Dallas last won a championship.

I wouldn’t say it’s misleading. With Amazon getting the TNF package, they want more competitive matchups or franchises that can draw.
And surprisingly I’d put the Saints in that category.
For anyone in their 20s/30s, the Saints have been one of the top organizations in their lives and they draw.

I don't get the Monday night game in week 2. MNF has a double header that night. Saints at Panthers at 6:15 (ESPN), and Browns and Steelers at 7:15 (ABC). I remember MNF double headers that were early game, then late game on west coast, but not playing at the same time basically.

No, both of our Thursday night games are on a short week following a Sunday game.
The second Thursday game is particularly brutal. Fly to LA and play on three days rest. Ouch. Other than that, I love the schedule.

Saints at Texans is a Saints home game IMO. By that point in the season the Texans will be playing to improve the Cardinals draft picks...
