Get me one of those big 340 lb monster NTs at the end of round one (if we trade back) or the beginning of round 2.

I'm no expert on this, but I don't think the scheme that Staley got from Fangio really uses a huge two gap NT. I know that is what Fangio did with the Dome Patrol, but his scheme has changed to a 1 and 1/2 gap scheme. So it doesn't really need a huge 2 gap NT as much as it needs big, quick, smart guys who know how to shed and move off of their gap if the play goes away from their gap.

Also Ford went to Texas and our new defensive ast coach Joseph was there at the same time so he probably knows him quite well

Yep. It's a 1 and 1/2 gap scheme which I think means that you don't need a huge 2 gap NT. You need big, quick, smart DT/ big DE types.

Donald didn’t play the NT position in that system, he played defensive end.

Donald did mostly play DE, but IIRC, Michael Brockers played the NT and he is only around 300 lbs.

Edit: Just checked and Sebastian Joseph-Day was the NT in 2020, but he was only 310 Lbs. so he wasn't a big 2 gapping NT.

For sure, you don’t have to be giant to be a good NT. Eddie Goldman was a darn good run stopping NT and I think I remember him being under sized. Nvm he was 320, man there was sub NT I can’t remember who was great at it and was sub 300

After what we have heard about Graham as a DL coach, I'm willing to give all the DTs a mulligan for the last few years. Hopefully a new scheme and coach can get more out of all of them. But hopefully we add more talent on the DL in the draft. It's supposed to be deep at Edge and DT.

He has no choice but to convert salary into bonuses. It's in every contract a Saints player signs. The team can do it at their will. But honestly, it's likely going to take more than that for Cam to stay. He's likely going to have to take a significant salary cut in the range of 50% down to $6 or $7 million.

Yessir. And I am hoping he acts as he’s said he wants to retire a Saint and is willing to act accordingly. And I think he will, knowing what an all-time NOLA hero he would become. … Think about the Who Dat Mt. Rushmore … a favorite of mine, Ricky Jackson, left because he wanted a ring … I don’t blame him for that, which is why he’s still a favorite … but from all indications I know of, Cam wants to stay … and I for one hope it happens.
