ok, assuming there are no more FA moves of note this is my final mock... i think it's realistic but since nobody really knows what's gonna happen we'll have to wait and see what surprises the draft has in store for us... criticism is fine, but try to be constructive

1) miami - c. long
2) rams - g. dorsey (haslet gets his way - again)
3) atl - m. ryan (they really wanted dorsey - damn shame, eh :))
4) oakland - v. gholston (yeah i know, but they had to move what's his name inside and now could really use this guy)
5) kc - j. long (they can't really believe their luck)
6) dallas - d. mcfadden (jets get dallas' #22, #28 & #92)
7) pats - l. mckelvin (the saints don't bite for ellis)
8) ravens - k. rivers (brohm is too big a reach for them, and their LBers can use a youth movement)
9) cincy - s. ellis (they get their man)
10) philly - b. albert ** (probably as good as it gets re: OL at this time)
n.o. gets l. sheppard and philly's #19; philly gets saints' #10
11) saints - r. mendenhall **
denver gets will smith and saints #40; saints get denver's #11 and #108 (denver needs DL and they can't beat smith at #11... this assigns a 1st rd value to smith)

saints:

19 - d. connor (LB from penn st.)
78 - k. langford (DE from hampton)
108 - f. okam (DT from texas)
146 - b. keith (OT from n. iowa)
178 - c. horton (S from ucla)
218 - j. haynos (TE from maryland)

starting O

LT - brown
LG - nesbit
C - goodwin
RG - evans
RT - stinch/strief
QB - brees
FB - karney
RB - bush/mendenhall/pt
WR - colston/meachem/henderson
TE - miller

starting D

LE - grant
DT - young
DT - thomas/okam/clancy
RE - mccray/langford
OLB - morgan/connor
MLB - vilma/simoneau
OLB - fujita/evans
CB - mckenzie/gay
CB - sheppard/david
FS - bullocks
SS - harper

So we trade to 19 then back up to 11? It seems unrealistic to me, IF we trade back with the eagles for Shepard, I see us staying put at 19, not shopping Smith for a higher pick

In his scenario, we keep 19. We trade W. Smith and our second for 11 and take RM. Then take Connor at 19 if I read it right.

I think we'll be losing our second pick for Shockey before we get anywhere near trading Will Smith.

Ooooh, gotcha. It was a bit confusing when I read it originally :hihi:

I thought Denver had the 12th pick?

Buffalo is 11 I believe.

Not that it matters I suppose cuz the Bills aren't picking Mendenhall anyway but you did say to be critical.

So we want two running backs who have been in the spread offense and have to learn how to block so our franchise QB doesn't get killed. I'm not against this, but I really don't see it happening. We just wouldn't be improving that much and we would be losing Smith.

well i'm not sure about the not improving thing, we'd get a probowl CB and two all american players in mendenhall and connor for will smith... not to mention two defensive players in the draft who have terrific upside in langford and okam... but i doubt anything like this happens (though i don't at all doubt we take mendenhall, stranger things have happened)

why would we trade Smith one of our best D-players and we need depth at DL do not trade away DL players and let him play his last year sooo he is playing for a contract for us or someone else

Don't get me wrong, I like the Lito trade, I'm just not sure about Mendenhall. I do agree with your later round picks though.
