9-8 so much better than 7-10 (1 Viewer)

The 2023 Saints would have won only 5 games against the 2022 Saints schedule. They probably don't lose the early game to the Panthers, but certainly lose to the Rams, Eagles and Browns that the 2022 Saints beat.

As long as 🦌 is the HC, we would not pick a QB. Doesn’t matter if we picked 1st in the draft. The plan was to hope DC4 played well enough to restructure him.
You're probably right. Unfortunately they signed up for the same restructure whether he played well enough to justify it or not. Carr wasn't the worst in the NFL this year, but he certainly didn't do enough for everyone to breath a sigh of relief that we've got him locked up for several more years.

If the situation plays out similar to how it did last season:
-First drive killed by a chop block call after we were driving
-Kamara fumble TD
-Holding on 3rd and 3 killing the drive
-5th drive starting with 2 false starts
-Blocked field goal
-Missed Field goal
-Defense letting a short pass get taken to the house 60+ yards

We probably lose that one too...lol

First 3 picks will probably be QB's, unless Chicago pulls a fast one and drafts Harrison Jr. 1st, Daniels won't make it out of the top 4 regardless
Agreed Trying no to be a homer here but I have to believe that Jayden is everything Bryce Young projected as and more.

Heisman winner with that much upside doesn't last past pick 3 ever.

Jamies
Baker
Bryce (no Heisman but still)

The list goes on but I'd love to see their draft profiles compared to Jayden

yes they had a better record vs last season, but somehow found this season more frustrating 🤷‍♂️

We also beat the Colts and they also finished with a winning record..
Both teams were 3-4 going into that game and they were starting their backup QB. We came out 4-4 and they came out 3-5. The Colts then went on a 4 game winning streak against the same bad teams we beat this season with their backup QB.

I have yet to bag on DC4. I know he is good enough to win us a division title and possibly get us to the 2nd rd of the playoffs. I had an issue with our offensive playcalling from PC. He ruined our season early on to where what we did at the end, was all for nothing

And it took this coaching staff having a 10 day mini-bye each time. Unfortunately, 10 days isn't a weekly luxury they'll have to figure out a winning game plan.

I haven't either, though I do recognize him for what he is. A mid tier QB that isn't going to elevate the playcalling or the people around him, but can do the job if things are set up right for him. I don't have any confidence that we are going to set thing up better for him than the Raiders did and I don't think he's going to change his trajectory after year 10 any more than I thought Jameis was going to change his after year 7. There is nothing wrong with being in the top 15-45 QBs in the world, but it does matter for the outcomes of a teams season.

I think it all depends on what you define as success vs. failure. If the goal of all 32 teams is to win the SB, then every season, there are 31 stories of failure and 1 story of success.

I love when the Saints make the playoffs - great atmosphere, the anticipation of the game(s), etc. but I have to ask, how is going 9-8 and missing it altogether any different than getting your expectations drop-kicked by the Minnesota Miracle or the No-Call? Or getting man-handled by the Vikings in the Dome? Yes we can say the team broke records during those times, came close, but if only the refs, or if only Williams…. the result is the same, no ring. Now if it’s to make the playoffs then great. But I think one reason (of many) that theres is so much complaining is that the team fell short of the ultimate goal on either side of the playoffs.

They finished 9-8 and they almost won their division with the same backup QB!

That is still a winning team.
