Completely get the negativity on here given our record, it’s something I’ve joined in myself. However, finally, it looks like this era of mediocre ridden purgatory is coming to an end.

The simple fact of the matter is 7 to 9 wins every season did nothing for anyone apart from Dennis Allen’s job security. The bottom finally falling through represents a chance for serious change. A new head coach and QB is what this franchise has needed for a while and now we have the chance to make chose changes without the need for justification. It’s time for our GM to finally step up.

Washington drafted Daniels, Houston drafted Stroud. Time for the Saints to do the same and transform the destiny of this franchise. It only takes one great draft for things to change.

The problem is that we almost certainly will win some games when we get healthy and when that happens it’s a matter of is it enough to make the playoffs, and if so can we do anything when we get there? The team isn’t tanking on purpose, and I don’t think it’s the right year to do that, nor do I think pros do that anyway because they only have so many years and their job is on the line.

We suck in a year where there are no truly obvious franchise QBs in the upcoming draft.

Yikes.
Said that on the way out of the building today. We would get the number pick the one year it’s not relevant, but I really don’t think we will. I think we’ll get Carr and McCoy back and make the division a toss up.

Love the optimism. I know if I keep going to the gym by the end of the year I’ll look like Mr. Olympia also.

Doesn’t always work like that though. With a serious head coach I think Cam Ward can be a franchise QB. Ewers might not be flavour of the month with many but he has the tools. It’ll come down to who we hire as HC (assuming ML gets a grip).

They're planning to blame the bad season on injuries. Loomis already said so and DA said he's not worried about job security. "Look past the results".

We will probably get a top 10 pick at least. 2yrs in a row it sounds like.

That’s the point though, this team isn’t tanking on purpose they’re just god damn terrible and playing whilst subconsciously knowing their coach is done.

The defense has never been close to being this bad and that’s what is going to lead us to no more than another 2 wins.

Right now the best college QBs look like projects. Not saying none of them will pan out, but when a team is looking for a guy to become the franchise QB, no one is leaping off the tape right now. Last year was the year to be a bad football team if you wanted a QB. If the Saints get a top 5 pick upcoming, if I were the GM I'd trade back and get a 2026 1st and some 2nds and 3rds. That's where the highest chances for starters are and loading up on picks there has the best chance of getting starters and quality depth than hoping late round picks turn out (they dont). This team if we're being 100% honest is 8-10 players away from being a threat.

I mean, even in years where there is a can't miss franchise QB, they often miss. Build the team for that future Rookie QB until you find him. You just have to take the BPA at that early pick and if you see one next year or the year after, and you don't draft high enough, you trade up.
