Crushed by 41 points. One win out of 10 games. Are we shooting for the worst single-season record?

The state of the team right now is hopeless. The season was over before it even started.
There are people all over the city who are breaking into cars and leaving Pels tickets on the seats.

I just hope there are enough supporters of pro basketball in the area to keep a franchise here.
But I seriously doubt it. šŸ˜„

The brass on Airline Dr. have a ton of soul searching to do regarding this organization. I wouldn't even attend the game if you gave me a ticket for free at this point. This team is beyond horrible, how is griff not fired by now?

I really feel bad for Willie Green....His HC career is off to a :poop: start and TBH there ain't much he can do about it.
I have to assume that Green will have to get a pass (from everyone) for this dismal situation he's in and the record that has resulted from it. It sure seems like the Pelicans will have an uphill climb just to be competitive once again, but the first thing that must happen is to have good players that can stay healthy. I don't believe that Green is doing anything wrong. He just doesn't have anything he can work with as of yet. It's insane the hits this team keeps taking to keep them from starting the turn around. Perhaps one day New Orleans will be able to put a 'whole' team on the court. šŸ˜„

He should get a pass...but I don't know how much longer he actually wants to deal with it. All of the stuff that went south for him this season were out of his control, and TBH they don't look to be getting any better anytime soon. It's like he volunteered to go right into NBA purgatory when he signed on to become the Pels HC...I mean from the outside it seems hopeless, I can only imagine what it feels like within the org.

The look on his face last night said "What in the hell am I doing here", like you can see him going through all of his life decisions that got him where he is today, when Hart got ejected.

There's no doubt that the frustration level is through the roof for everyone in the organization, on or off the court. Playing through such adversity isn't easy, but at some point we must get those players that can make a difference healthy once again. We all know that 2021 is done. But hopefully we will get the players we need during the offseason to start 2022 with renewed vigor and get enough victories early on to build some momentum for the season. If not, we'll be right back in this same position by this time next year. :covri:

What is it with the Pelicans' injuries? In any one season, sure, you can say "bad luck" ... but the Pelicans' injury issues have been going on as long as the team has been here. And I'm sure medical staff has been turned over plenty since the early New Orleans Hornets days.

I wonder sometimes if New Orleans is the kind of market players won't physically "sell out" for. For the Lakers or Celtics or Spurs, say, there's something that'll get them and keep them pushing through mild injuries (probably not even telling anyone about them besides maybe team trainers). On the flip side -- could it be that when Pelican feels a twinge, they think to themselves subconsciously "This team's not worth it ... we're not going anywhere ... gotta protect my value for my next contract."

Perhaps there's widespread "disrespect" among players for the Pelicans as a franchise, and maybe that has influence on how much the team can get out of a player? The NBA seems to be a league with a small number of star franchises and a bunch of Washington Generals ... that's got to seep into players' minds.

Good points. The star players seem to stay "injured".

You could build a team that full of hustle, hardworking, gritty tough guys. Find a Jokic or a Sengun who plays tough.

What's this I see? Another LOSS? Are we still in the basement of the NBA standings? Why yes, yes we are. Pathetic.

We're not in the basement anymore! I'm sure this is just the first in a long line of wi....... šŸ¤£

Yeah, right.

I was stupid enough to buy season tickets when drafted Zion. I knew better than to renew this season!

Yeah, but.....they won two in a row the other day. They're climbing. šŸ¤£
It's good to see some improvement on the court... since it's clear that Zion will probably never be healthy again in my lifetime.
However, after the win in Dallas last night I noticed that none of the next 5 opponents for the Pels have a winning record. It wouldn't be impossible for them to win 4 out of the next 5 and build a bit of momentum & experience for the tougher games that will follow. But if they crash & burn during this stretch, it's hard to imagine that anything positive will happen this year. Soon New Orleans will simply be known as The Big Infirmary for all of our pro teams.
