Article Adebo progressing well from injury (46 Viewers)

We can't afford that and we'd definitely get a 3rd as a comp for him if he signs for something like that. I'd rather have him on the team, but I'm trying to see the bright side on this one.
Our top three free agents (as determined by PFF) all seem to be out of range for 2025. If they can get those estimated contracts, it definitely opens us up to giving our new coach some extra picks in 2026.

Johnson - three years $29m w/ $17m guaranteed ($9.75m AAV)
Young - two years $35m w/ $20m guaranteed ($17.5m AAV)
Adebo - three years $40m w/ $25m guaranteed ($13.33m AAV)

Day three rookies in 2026 rarely have as much value as veteran players today, but it's better than nothing.

The greatest roster strength going into 2024 was cornerback with Lattimore, Adebo, Taylor, and McKinstry. Going into 2025 to lose the two best players in that quartet is exactly the kind of dysfunction that has led the Saints to the be a league laughing stock. Mickey Loomis' cap management makes other teams better and ours an absurdity.

Maybe he can play with boxing gloves on his hands this year so he doesn't get PI and holding penalties to blow games
