1. Why did New Orleans lose another home game?
Hurricane Katrina forced the New Orleans Saints to play an additional road game in 2005 against the New York Giants.

This year New Orleans will travel to London's Wembley Stadium to play another "home" game Oct. 26 (Week 8) against the San Diego Chargers, giving the Saints nine road trips for the second time in four seasons.

"Why do we have the [eight] home games, and all of a sudden the people in New Orleans don't have an opportunity; they've lost one? I don't know," Chargers general manager A.J. Smith said. "I'm sure they have a system. Maybe it's a coin flip.''

According to NFL spokesperson Michael Signora, no coin flip was involved. Signora said it simply was "a league decision."

Did they get what they wanted?

We play carolina the week before so we will be on the east coast.

I just heard this story on Mike and Mike and the powers that be for the NFL just decided to take a Home game from us. There is no set way as AJ implied, it was decision made off the cuff. Mike and Trey Wingo were talking about how big of an oversight it was and the NFL should be "ashamed"....my word not theirs, but pretty much what they meant.

They went on to say every other league is trying their hardest to give us games and the NFL takes one away.......***?

yes, the announcers asked if their east coast game the week before was by design, Norv said they asked the NFL and got it

I wonder what we asked for in our schedule?

Whatever it was, they must have thought we asked for a traditional Italian hand gesture of somewhat uncertain genesis but unmistakeable meaning.

I assume that after last year's dud in London that the NFL wanted to get two high-powered offenses for this year's game, and it just so happens that the Chargers game is a home game for us. Even though it sucks to lose a home game, we should feel good that the NFL thinks we'd have better success than the Giants and Dolphins.

I mean between the 42 days straight away from the dome and only 7 home games this year, maybe the NFL needs to rethink the way they devise the schedules. Pretty crappy considering there is uncertainty around the team's status in Louisiana. This certainly is not going to help Benson make more money...although we may pick up some London Saints fans.

Yep, nothing says be a Saints fan in England more than a team with French symbols all over their helmets.

Does the nfl not remember when we played every single game on the road just three years ago?? just because we had our home uniforms on doesnt mean it was a home game. I think we should be getting atleast one or two more each year until we are back even. The stupid schedule makers give the 16-0 pats the softest schedule, like they need it.

So you think. My friend's girlfriend's lover knows someone who knows something and he said that soon it will be announced that the two Saints/Carolina games will have their home fields swapped, effectively moving that game before the London one to NOLA. then A week later it will be announced the game, the one just turned into a home game for us, will actually be played in Tibet....starting riots globally and a lot of drinking in NOLA. But the endzones will be painted black & gold.....or one of them will, at least.

The NFL will say they did it to boost the economy of Louisiana. Sports writers and fans around the World will either take no notice of it or bash the NFL for the move saying that it in no way helps out the La economy. The NFL will refute this by showing the increase in numbers of Abita Beer consumption after the announcment of the game being moved....twice.

Take that to the bank....but forget it if it doesn't happen.
