NFL Draft Alabama Guard Tyler Booker? (17 Viewers)

He looked good at C.

He looked like Nick Saldiveri to me... Feet are a little slow.

I thought Dillinger looked better than him at G.
He was drive blocking really well at G.
He dominated 1v1 all week long.

He didn’t just win reps… he made it look easy.

Maybe that’s why his feet looked slow, because it looked like he wasn’t trying hard.

I read the articles that he had good practices... I just didn't see it at G when he played there in the game.
But he looked good at C in the game.

Dillinger looked slow at T but at G he was getting 2 levels deep in his run blocking in the game.
In the game Dillinger looked more NFL ready at G than Zabel.

Obvs not at 9, but yeah I like him he could start day 1. Let’s say we kept Lucas Patrick around, good depth but I’d rather give someone like Booker a chance initially.

There’s definitely an adjustment. Everything happens faster at OG.

I’d be fine with either of the OG from LSU.

I’d like to see Saldiveri work at RT. In his college highlights he was cagey in pass pro at RT.

There’s a lot of IOL in this draft but it’s generally pretty weak. Booker for example is a mauler in the run game but struggles in pass protection. There doesn’t seems to be a single guard in this draft that is really good at both run blocking and pass protection. Ratledge out of Georgia for example can pass protect but struggles in run blocking.

Put up a terrible RAS score at the combine. 4.15. No way we draft someone with that bad of a RAS.

I'm not moving back into the first round for a guard. I'd just wait and see who falls to us in the 2nd round.

If anything has been proven by the Saints, it's that guard is not a position we need to spend 1st round picks on and I think Jahri Evans and Carl Nicks and even Warford might agree.

Who I really really like at guard this year are Grey Zabel and Tate Ratledge

People don’t see how much of an athletic freak Tate is for his size. He could be the best guard from this draft.
Ratledge is the one. He’s easily in the 40 range. Could even move back to late 2nd to get him.
