Must say I'm entirely underwhelmed by that trailer. I'll see what further ones look like before passing judgment, but that makes the film look like a lame jump-scare fest.

The last few Ridley Scott movies around the alien series have been underwhelming. I’m not holding my breath but would love for this to be less cheesy jokes and more gore / hopefully much more dark. From what I’ve heard that’s the plan with this one.

I don't get excited for movies anymore because most things are pretty terrible these days. But Fede Alvarez has horror chops and I like the tone and style on display here. The "Alien" franchise is pretty long in the tooth and could use a good, simple return to formula movie to find it's footing again, sort of like "Prey" did for the Predator franchise.

We'll see.
