Alien: Romulus (1 Viewer)

Watched it last night on IMAX. I gave it a solid B. The actor David Jonsson who plays Andy was AMAZING. Nothing really new about the story telling but I still enjoyed it. But I do have a question. And it is spoilerish so...

After the chest buster left, it then cocooned itself on the hull and emerged as an adult alien. I don't remember this in any of the other Alien movies. Is this normal? Am I simply forgetting this aspect of alien life-cycles?

One more thing...

The whole human-like alien was very similar to what was done in Alien Resurrection. This version was done better but it was still cringy and I think the movie would have been better without it.

Also, seeing Science Officer Rook was a very nice touch. Very well done.

Was there no “face hugger” phase?

i'm prolly the minority - but i kinda wish they would've just done marines vs aliens for every followup after Aliens - i would watch this series over and over with pulse rifles and flamethrowers and just war... but I liked starship troopers so i may be wrong

It's suggested in some deleted scenes of alien and flesh out in comics and books, that they do the cocoon thing

Saw it yesterday. Enjoyed it.

Immediately surpassed Prometheus and covenant as well as 3 and 4

I like how it ties into the three before it.

That said Some of the fan service is a bit forced

And I believe it's called an 'interquel"

One more geek question. I was just perusing Alien: Covenant. I had forgotten that there were scenes from an Alien's point of view. The screen was murky, filmy, somewhat obscured but overall, evidently the Alien could see rather clearly. My question is, what sort of vision do these Alien Xenomorphs possess? Do they have interior eyes? It wasn't like echolocation, there was actual color, so are there eyes inside the exoskeleton?

Been waiting all year for this

Saw it last night and really enjoyed it…some creepy surprises and gory fun that just made this one solid. Not incredible, but 8/10. Loved the quiet scenes, reminded me of being in an old timey horror movie in some of it. Great summer sci fi thriller that delivered. I won’t gripe about the little things here or there, they even threw in several Easter eggs to prior timeline events and films.

Well done, Fede Álvarez. I’ll leave it at that.

Slightly off topic, but reminded me.. did you ever see that movie “Cowboys vs Aliens”? It was actually fun, albeit cheesy
