Yeah, the Vikings really let us down, but a bye is still realistically in play. Granted, "realistically" depends on what you believe the Seahawks chances of beating SF are, but I believe any scenario involving a bye relies on a Hawks win. If we win and the hawks win, we've got the 2nd if the packers also win, 1st if they lose. Should the saints drop the game to the panthers, still would need a hawks win, but would need the pack to win in order to get the 2nd seed.

everything that was true heading into tonight's game is still true heading into week 17

Saints win + EITHER a 49ers loss OR a Packers loss gives the Saints a 1st round bye

Saints win + BOTH a 49ers loss AND a Packers loss gives the Saints HFA

the only difference is we have much less faith in the Lions winning than the Vikings

If the Lions have a shred of pride they should wanna screw up the Packers path after that BS Monday night finish earlier this year with the phantom hands to the face....Packers should’ve lost that game and be 11-4. I had a bad feeling that game would screw us and we’re one more week from it doing just that ??‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️

I'll gladly take the 2 seed....this team could use a week off...too bad we have to wait all the way until the end of Sunday night to learn our fate.

Yeah i’m not sure why everyone counts them out. I think they have a better chance of besting the Niners than Vikings did beating the Packers today. QB is still important and i’d take Wilson over Brady’s clipboard holder any day.

The 49ers are a good football team but have also had a lot of good breaks along the way. That includes ref calls and playing teams at the right time. I was more concerned with the Alex Smith 49ers. Don’t forget this 49ers team just was one call away with us from being a wildcard team and lost to the Falcons with much more on the line at the time.

Do we really need a bye? We are not injured and we didn’t really play well after our bye this year. I’m more worried about home field advantage.
I'd rather have a bye than not have a bye

edit: and at this point in the season EVERYONE is injured and can use the time to heal up... I'm sure Peat & Warford & Kamara would like a week to rest

Fanks to Kirk Cousins, the Seahawks need to beat the 49ers at home for us to get the #2-period. anything else is just mathematical probability. Our focus is on the Seahawks needing to beat the 49ers for the 2nd straight time. (not an easy task!)

Depends on how confident you are in a 41-year old QB playing in sub-zero temperatures in the middle of January. If you have no qualms than you don't need a bye to sleep at night.

Yeah, i mean obviously i wouldn’t complain if we had a bye but didn’t we win the Superbowl after playing the wild card game at home? Only difference is the NFC championship was at home, which looks unlikely but still probable. Sometimes a break can kill momentum. We finally have a team with depth. Maybe we were built for this?

I agree for the rest of our offensive line though. How long long are Peat and Warford expected to be out?

we were the 1 seed (thus had a bye & HFA) the year we won the SB

edit: and the Vikings were the 2 seed

edit2: Peat is already practicing... so I hope he plays this week to get his feet back under him... I haven't heard any timeline for Warford's return

I will definitely be going to that game if it happens. Talk about epic.

However, like i said I would be more concerned with keeping all games in the dome than a bye. We have been playing just as good away during the regular season but really think we need to keep momentum
