All things Florida Man (5 Viewers)

A Florida man is facing felony charges over accusations he randomly sucker punched a sleeping passenger during a flight from California to Washington, D.C., beating the fellow traveler — for no apparent reason — until the cabin was speckled with blood, according to a federal complaint filed Tuesday.

About two hours into the five-hour journey on Monday aboard United Airlines flight 2247 from San Francisco to Dulles, Everett Chad Nelson, 44, left his seat in the rear of the aircraft and headed to one of the lavatories up front, the complaint states.

There were 82 passengers and six crew aboard the flight, a United spokesperson told The Independent.

When Nelson exited the bathroom, he stopped at seat 12F and “without notice, began physically attacking a sleeping male passenger by punching him repeatedly in the face and head until blood was drawn,” the complaint alleges, adding that the assault continued for a full minute.

The man began screaming, after which a Good Samaritan intervened and managed to pull Nelson off of him, according to the complaint.……

A Florida woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing her mom’s identity in order to collect thousands of dollars in hurricane disaster relief, claiming to officials that her youthful looks were simply because of botox.

Veronica Torres, 44, from Bradenton, Manatee County, was charged on Friday with filing a false public assistance claim after she was granted almost $8,000 in relief through the City of Bradenton’s Hurricane Disaster Assistance Program, the Bradenton Police Department said in a statement.

Police said the 44-year-old claimed she was forced from her home due to damage caused by Hurricanes Helene and Milton which both slammed into the Sunshine State within two weeks of one another.

Helene made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane on September 26 along the Big Bend region, while Milton made landfall as a Category 3 Hurricane on October 9 near Siesta Key. Together, the deadly storms claimed dozens of lives and caused billions of dollars worth of damage across the Southeast US.

According to authorities, Torres applied for disaster relief following the storms using her mother’s drivers license and social security information.

Torres was granted $7,967 in assistance but, when she attempted to collect the funds, a city employee noticed she looked much younger than the woman in the identification, police said.

When questioned, she allegedly tried to claim that it was her “botox treatments” making her appear more youthful than her years. Her mom’s age has not been disclosed.……

A Florida woman allegedly assaulted a fast-food worker when her lunch order didn’t include the dipping sauces she wanted, according to authorities.

McKenzie Anne Keeling, 31, flew into a rage after picking up food last Friday afternoon at a Raising Cane’s restaurant in Clearwater and “discovering that she was missing 8 packs of Cane’s Sauce,” the chicken finger chain’s signature condiment, according to an arrest affidavit filed in Pinellas County Circuit Court and reviewed by The Independent.

Keeling, who had already driven away by the time she became aware of the apparent oversight, then called the location and said she was on her way back to pick up her sauce, the affidavit states. Once she returned, the restaurant manager greeted Keeling — who was still talking to the Raising Cane’s employee who had picked up the phone — and “inquired how she could assist” her, the affidavit continues.

“[Keeling] requested her missing sauce, which the victim provided, then [Keeling] requested additional sauces for free for ‘wasting her time and gas,’” the affidavit goes on.

But the manager denied Keeling’s request, prompting Keeling to demand the woman’s name, according to the affidavit. It says that when the manager declined to identify herself, Keeling “became hostile, both verbally and physically,” creating a loud commotion and “disturbing staff and customers.”

As she continued yelling, Keeling struck the manager in the right thigh, then grabbed a lanyard attached to the woman’s belt loop that was holding her employee ID card and keys, and tried to yank it away, the affidavit states.…….
