All Time Saints Roster: Drafted vs Free Agents (1 Viewer)

If you were to make two separate all time Saints rosters of homegrown drafted talent vs free agents which one are you taking?

Undrafted players count as drafted/homegrown because their first NFL experience is with us

I'm torn on Sam Mills and Vaughn Johnson. I'm thinking they count as free agents because while we were their first NFL experience they had extensive pro experience (USFL)

Also torn on Taysom Hill. I'm leaning towards counting him as homegrown because I think he was just a practice squad guy, but if he played in the regular season at all with green bay that would make him a true free agent to me

So on one side we have Drew Brees, Joe Horn, Jonathan Vilma, Demario Davis etc.

On the other side we have Archie Manning, Mike Thomas, Marques Colston, Rickey Jackson and Pat Swilling etc.

It will take me some time to put together my full roster for both but just off the top of my head even though Brees is obviously a huge weight on the free agent scale, I'm thinking that the drafted roster may turn out to be more solid overall

I hear he's still working out, rehabbing. He's going to be a beast. Also, CIe Grant is going to be an All-Pro linebacker, once he gets over his degenerative knee issues. He's so fast!

For some reason I thought I read a separate all-time undrafted roster in the OP Big derp by me.

At the rate we’ve been hitting on undrafted players, even after Payton while Ireland’s still here, they definitely can be their own category

Free agents have Brees, Horn, Demario, and Vilma. But the draft picks are crazy deep at every position on both sides. We drafted a lot of star talent at all skill positions since the 80s.

Drafted RBs are loaded with AK, Deuce, Reggie, and Ingram. Pierre and Sproles would light up the screen game with Drew for the FAs. But they won’t be able to run the ball on Cam, Martin, Wilks and Will Smith. The best OL are all on the drafted side; Roaf, Nicks, McCoy, Evans, & Ram. Elite OL unit.

Lattimore and Porter/or Waymer could lock up Horn and Pathon/or Moore most of the time. On the other side, Thomas and Colston win at least half of the matchups against Greer and McKenzie combined. No all time defensive FA can cover Jimmy Graham.
