Alvin disrespect (1 Viewer)

Seems like everyone has lost faith in Alvin Kamara being a top running back. What’s y’all’s expectation this year of him ?
Don’t think anyone lost respect he just won’t be here the first 3 games. If you’re talking about fantasy then he will be part of a 2 headed monster and his value drops. Especially since Williams is the workhorse in the red zone.

I haven't really seen anyone on the board lose faith in Alvin. There was one poster I noticed whomst said he's lost a step but that poster only comes around every so often and was likely just emotional because he felt a certain way about off the field stuff.

I think most are excited about his 2023 campaign even with the suspension. Not having to carry the ball so much, we can get back to the runs he's great at (outside zone, shotgun runs) and more frequent looks in the passing game.

Nick Underhill had a great analysis on his site on how Kamara changed his strength and conditioning coach and has been correcting some of the factors that hindered him last year. Says that the numbers show that he is demonstrably faster and more explosive this year from last.

Spot on imo.
Also, I think many folks misconstrue his very smooth running style for lack of effort. He just flows like water, the river has some wear on it now but it will still rush on…..

Speed wasn't ever his game, vision and catlike balance was his forte...and he's a pretty good between the tackles runner when he's not being predictably slammed into the back of the oline on 2nd down.

I think he looked better last year than he gets credit for. He still displayed some of his trademark balance and elusiveness, it just got overshadowed by the wall he ran into a few too many times when our OL couldn’t pave the road.
Which was there because everyone in America knew what the play call was when he went in.

I agree. My comment about him flowing like water is an extreme compliment. Said it since he was drafted. I’m a fan.

I've always thought, troubles aside, that AK was a worker, he has the will and need to keep getting better. I think he has at least 3 years left to play at a very high level....

There was reason to be skeptical after last season but it looks like he's done everything he's needed to to bounce back and more importantly it looks like they'll at least use him better this year. 3 game suspension will probably be a blessing in disguise as it saves some wear and tear for a postseason run.
