Another good read on the MT situation (1 Viewer)

I may have missed it, as I have not combed thru the other MT specific thread...but we already suspended him once last year, and we could presumably do so again--if he really did not respond to the team and missed medical related stuff.

Depending on contract language, we might be able to get back a significant part of his bonus monies (IE cap hits/dead cap space). That is prob a last case scenario, but if he is going to continue to act out and CSP has had enough, it might be a course of action???

If he is, he would sit. The Saints have been incredibly fair to him, he currently has half the trade value that he had 12 months ago because of his injury and recent antics, and the Saints would take next year a $22 million cap hit if he is traded. No, no, no.Hebert this evening was advocating a trade to Jacksonville for Henderson before Detillier and the PFF guest set him straight.

Bobby Hebert makes me welcome the WWL commercials.

The following statement is not directed at anyone. There’s four active MT threads on page 1 and the subject has taken over many others. Should we consider making a Sticky Thread for all things MT? Understand it’s a big topic, I don’t have to click on them, and this is a message board. Feel that MT communications can be consolidated.

The dead money next year if he is traded will be 22.7M however that is less that the $24.7M cap hit if he isn't traded.

We only save $2M and we have to find more wide receivers. He’s not getting traded. Mike is having a rough couple of years. He needs to change his attitude around. He’s really spoiled. Mike, if you want to be great it all starts between the ears. The greatest receivers of all time have all overcome adversity, now is your time to prove yourself.

I think the cap hit is too big to trade him but there is a relationship that needs to be repaired. He's a grown man and his uncle had a reputation of being somewhat difficult to deal with. I hope the season goes well so he can get excited about playing again because I do think Drew's departure has made him less enthusiatic.
