ATC aside, doesn't anyone just look left/right when crossing a road?! I mean, not only was he told to hold short, but he could have clearly seen that SW flight coming in for a landing.

So how many are we up to this year?

I, like kcirdor, wonder if this is more that we are hearing about these more than we used to or if this is a sign of negligence in the industry or a failure in government regulation/air traffic control?

It seems like an incredibly large number this year but at this point I don't recall how many and maybe it's just a statistical anomaly that they are close together.

I think it is two mid-air in 2025.
