Anybody Else Thought the Falcons Game Was Lost when Kamara Dropped the Pass?

All I could think of was Dave yelling at Alvin when Alvin was in trouble:

ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL-VIN!

I was certain that was the harbinger of defeat. I mean, great call, great throw, and the best player on the team makes an horrific mistake like that? I openly wondered if he was shaving points.

But they pulled it out in the end! May it be the first of many!
I did

So what I wished we would have seen, was instead of putting the ball in Carr's hands on a critical 3rd and 4, where Carr has been playing skittish in the second half, get your running game, which you've invested most of your offseason into improving, and pick up 4 yards on two downs to finish the game. Worst case, you get stopped for a loss or no gain and force the Falcons to use their last timeout.

When he said we wouldn't be boring, that's what I expected. Not punting on 4th and 1 on the 50, not throwing deep bombs to running backs when you need to burn the clock. This team needs to impose their will on their opponent. That would be not boring.

End rant/. Still making my next child Rizz

The offense looked the same in the second half that they did all year. Why did they even throw a long pass to Kamara in the first place even though it would have worked beautifully had he caught it. They always seem to go for the long shot instead of taking what's in front of them on crucial 3rd downs. I'm having a hard time distinguishing this new offense from Carmichael's offense.

Of course, we all thought it. Far too much time left on the clock and it was quite in keeping with this team’s MO to lose yet another close game.

Food for thought — let’s say he catches it and gets tripped up at, say, the 10-yard line. Do we settle for the 20-17 score and take the knee at that point or continue to try to score?

It happened. Alvin is human. Anyone who is a real Saints fan that would think the drop was intentional or that Alvin does not go all out for this team in any instance is IMO a conspiracy theorist nutjob. Kamara has shown a level of commitment to this city and franchise above and beyond. When he signed his extension this year it said a lot. A hell of a lot.

If it were the Denny Allen team, that totally would have been a loss. It's a new coach and a new day!
This right here. In a one score game, had Allen been calling the shots it was a collapse and an L waiting to happen. But without Allen on the sideline, hey, anything can happen, even good stuff for a change!

I absolutely thought it was over. Screamin at the TV, Kamara does that once in a while takes his eyes off before he's got the dang ball
