NFL Draft Anybody still hopeful that we can miraculously land Tajae Spears? (3 Viewers)

I like the way he plays the game!
I would love for us to draft him!
Nick Underhill and Mike Triplett mocked Dorian to us in the 5th round.

Depends where the Saints (hypothetically) draft him. If we were to get him in the 4th round, I’d have no issue with us taking a chance on him. He imo is a top 3 RB in this class in terms of pure talent. Obviously the medical stuff is going to play a factor though. With that said, if we were to get 3-4 good years out of him, that would be a quality use of a 4th round pick.

A guy like Todd Gurley had about 4 great years before his knee started to become an issue then had a couple decent years after. We obviously wouldn’t be putting in anywhere near that investment with a day 3 pick on Spears in this scenario and if we got a quality RB (even if it’s just for 1 contract) that would be well worth the pick. We’ve seen he is capable of playing at a high level this past year with the knee issue, so this doesn’t concern me much in the short term.
Gurley had an ACL. This is a different situation. It’s more akin to Odell Beckham being signed by the Rams when they knew he didn’t have an ACL. He wasn’t able to make it through the entire playoffs. There is no guarantee Spears makes it through ONE complete season. For a late round pick? Sure. Worst case scenario is you waste a 6th-7th rounder. But you don’t want to waste a pick any sooner.

All I can say about the young man is he is a baller and can take over a game. Watch the Cotton Bowl and you will see a young man who has the grit, passion, and heart to win in this league. He reminds me of Kamara in that he is very hard to tackle.

Hope the Saints get him in 4th round. I don't think he will last longer than that. Better hope ATL, Carolina or TB does not draft him.

Guys I’ve heard that Tyjae and his agent found out about this just a few days ago and quickly did an MRI which confirmed it. Before the news they had about half the teams tell him they were interested enough to take him as high as the second round. After the news about half the teams took him off their boards. They anticipate him going no higher than the 5th with not being drafted a definite possibility. Tyjae as you would expect is devastated.
I know one thing about that young man after observing his leadership and positive personality in the Tulane program. He is going to be a success in life regardless of whether it’s in the game of football or not. He graduated in December and would be a fabulous guy to have in any role he is fit for in any organization. He is and will always be a legend in the Tulane athletic family.
Let’s all wish the best for him in the draft, then in his NFL career or any other future endeavors.

How could he not know? I mean, even in high school Doctors would have told him they were removing it instead of repairing it, I would think. Right?

I'm absolutely Wish him the best in whatever comes.

It very likely re-ruptured. It sucks. I feel for him
