Anyone following this Stephen A Smith vs LeBron dispute? (1 Viewer)

The major portion of the beef is Stephen A. Smith randomly attacking LeBron as a father. Stephen A Smith ignorantly said on a recent segment “LeBron, I’m pleading to you as a father, stop this” in a condescending manner out of left field regarding Bronny getting minutes. LeBron’s team drafting Bronny at the end of the draft puts Bronny under the microscope to be incessantly criticized by tasteless media personalities like Stephen A. Smith who hates anything LeBron. But Stephen A Smith gaslights/changes the narrative to making LeBron’s response about LeBron is #2 alltime to him to avoid accountability and apologizing for personally attacking LeBron’s fatherhood for no reason. All Stephen A Smith does is attack LeBron and other players personally. He doesn’t provide basketball insight. He thinks as a media personality that he matters more than actual NBA players. He thinks he doesn’t have to show basic respect for players he’s covering because to him it’s a privilege that he’s speaking about them and not the other way around which is the reason he’s in that position. He plays the victim after he goes over the top with personal attacks disguised as basketball coverage.
The whole thing is tasteless, but I think you are missing some of the point here. LeBron said he would sign with any team that drafted his son for less money. He claimed his son was better than a lot of guys in the league. If you watched LeBron's interview on The Pat McAfee show he talked about loving the process. That he would continue to play if he still loved the process. He didn't let his son go through the process of being drafted. He interjected the entire way. SAS was calling him out on that, it wasn't random. LeBron confronted SAS courtside in the 3rd quarter of a game he was playing in during a timeout. He told him to quit talking crap about his son. LeBron can't have it both ways. He wasn't questioning him as a father at home to his son he was questioning it as an NBA player and using his pull to get his son drafted. SAS isn't the only pundit who felt this way. A lot of people didn't think Bronny was going to get drafted. I am not a big SAS fan but I see what he is saying here. LeBron and SAS are both petty as hell though. I feel bad for Bronny in this situation, everyone just needs to chill and let him play and develop, he could end up being solid NBA player. Sadly this is the kind of crap people want to talk about nowadays. How do they play an 82 game regular season and not having anything else to talk about than personal beef.

Making himself part of the story is and always was the point.

Yup, it's exactly why sports journalism is really not anything but performative acting.....and poorly done at that.....Stephen A is the perfect example....

I miss the days of the true sports journalists/analysts......

2 of my least favorite people in the Sports world…can they do a celebrity boxing match and then have a sinkhole to the 7th layer of hell open beneath the ring and take them both down?
