At least we are not the Cowboys: Jerry Jones has a bizarre incoherent presser during Schottenheimer presentation (1 Viewer)

Under Mecom, we were the Cowboys.
Who are you kidding? The Cowboys just finished a 5 year stretch under MM where they won 50 game. Meacom’s saints never had a 10 year stretch where they won that many games. Some of these Johnny Come Lately Saints fans have no idea how bad the early Saints years really were. It took us til our 16th year of existence to get our 50th win in franchise history.

I really think we’re at the point when you can’t criticize anyone not being around for the Meacom years.
It was sooo long ago.

Ummmm I don't know if youve been living under a rock but we are trying to become the Cowboys that Saints fans have been laughing at the past 6 years. Mccarthy and Kellen Moore are the two favorites for the job.

Ummm…..there are amazing similarities between the Jerry Jones and Mickey Loomis. Both are desperately trying to prove their team’s past success wasn’t just because of a Head Coach (Jones - Jimmy Johnson, Loomis - Sean Payton). Both have gigantic egos believing they are the smartest football people in the room. History has shown both are mediocre at their jobs. Jones as owner/GM does have more security than Loomis but Loomis probably has as much power/autonomy/security as any other GM in the league. Loomis is written into the team’s succession plan. Jones and Loomis are perfect examples of what happens when people in power have no one answer to and no consequences to their actions. Loomis will still collect his hefty paycheck next year if the team doesn’t win a single game and he continues to criminally mismanage the salary cap……

But even if you weren’t actually there you should know your team’s history. I wasn’t around for the 67-69 years and was too young to remember 70-78 but I can tell you how bad they were.

But that’s the thing.
There’s really nothing to remember.
You have one moment. Dempsey’s record FG kick.
And one player. Archie Manning.
Besides that, the franchise might as well been recognized as founded in 1986.
