The field isn't normal. That extra touch he took was because the first touch l, the ball didn't roll as it normally would. This surface is very heavy on friction w ball. That's obvious. So doing things out of muscle memory won't come off as it normally would. All teams have been dealing with this issue .

They better get it right before 2026.

Fwiw almost all players will tell you they like a slick field. It's why they water before and at half (usually) to keep it "fast". So when ur eyes and brain are tuned into that speed and all of a sudden, you play on a surface that is slow and heavy, it's really hard to adjust.

Ream is savvy ...but his pairing with Richards is problem. Richards has struggled in this formation and he isn't strong enough central in anticipation and being in right spot. It might be time for Berhalter to put Miles with Ream.

We cannot afford one momentary lapse when they are patiently passing around looking for that one moment. And yeah, that scares me lol
