Video Awesome drone tour of the renovated Superdome. (1 Viewer)

Awesome video! :9:
I was on the floor of the Superdome for the Open House and I just couldn't believe the size of the roof over my head.
The Superdome has been the site of a lot of incredible history. Some good; some bad. (Some would rightly say 'horrible'.)
But I still get the same 'feels' when I approach the Superdome today as I did in 1975. 🥹

I’m curious to see if they did anything near my section from last year. It was pretty bad last season - removed the basic concession stand and replaced it with a bar that only sold mixed drinks or 30oz “bomber” beer cans.

Getting a hot dog and a draft beer became an ordeal.

Hoping that was just an interim phase.

I was 100000000% impressed vs. the Titans my side was not done last year but very much is so now. It really is like an almost brand new building .

There are going to still be drink issues folks don’t know how to work everything so expect a disaster week one but it will get there.

Really enjoyed this. It’s been 20 years since I’ve been to a game there. Love the new look.

Awesome Video! I have added it to the Superdome Renovations thread.

This video encapsulated most but not all of the Superdome renovations and changes inside and out over the past 20 years including the overall gameday experience.

Saints fans still have hundreds of small, personalized tailgating areas near and around the Dome but the creation of Champions Square now gives fans a pre-game gathering point at the steps just outside the Superdome that didn't exist 20 years ago. Club XLIV adjoins Champions Square and it is now huge. The closure of Lasalle St. created a pedestrian only area between the Superdome and Champion Square. This alone is a major change from the pre-game experience from 20 years ago.

*** May I remind fans attending the games that you must enter the Dome at the gate stated on your ticket. They will begin enforcing that this year. ***

The Superdome looks fantastic. I’ve been to a few of the newer stadiums and they for the most part still can’t come close.
Seattle’s building is really nice, but the one I want to go to is either Minnesota or LA I think the glass roof is impressive looking on TV I would love to see that in person.

The dome upgrades really give the building a ton of class and polish and most importantly the building is really themed towards the Saints. You know who’s stadium your in when you go to a game. I found before the dome was just generic now it’s obvious this is the Saints home field.

The concourses were dull and poorly lit now they are open and bright. I am going to miss running down the ramps after the game but you really do get out of the building a lot quicker now.

I just wish they could do something to make getting a drink or some food a lot easier the folks working the checkouts just seemed lost. In theory the systems should make it quicker but it’s like the folks working don’t trust the system yet.

I just really wish they could get rid of the 80’s colored seats and just go all black or maybe more gold seats.

Thank you, I should have just put it in that thread. My bad, forgot about that one.

do they still have the ramps that you walked down to get to the ground floor? I remember in the early 90s playing football down those with random kids

No. Those were eliminated to create extra space. That is explained and shown in the "Superdome Renovations Update" thread which is currently on page 1.

The ramps were removed and replaced with a stairwell for exiting the building.

Well after watching that video I feel like I’m going to throw up. Like riding a roller coaster. Seriously. The Dome looks beautiful. They did a really good job with the renovations.

pretty neat. still don't understand why the new terrace restrooms have far too many sinks and far too few urinals, leading to ridiculous lines never before seen at the mens rooms. (and some folks in the plaza still have to wait forever just to pee outside!) but other than that - and the logjam leaving from the terrace (RIP ramps)... pretty neat.
