Reading the thread about old hangouts made me feel nostalgic about my time there. If anyone who worked there or went to the bar there in the early 2000s reads this, give me a hollar. That place was a blast. There were no rules. I worked with some of the coolest people ever there. Most of it is hazy :winky1: but I do have a few good memories of the place.

Bennigan's re-opened after Katrina, closed, then became something else, and it closed just after a few months.....All I know is, that's some prime realestate....

God bennigans makes the best monte cristo sandwich. They all closed up here in jersey im so mad. Cant get one like that anymore.

I knew this. They filmed the portion at the house party across the street from a friend of mine. Great movie, especially if you've ever working in a restaurant. It really is surprisingly accurate in many respects.

I thought it was filmed at an old, old Bennigans in/near Kenner, while the Bennigans at Causeway/Vets was still open til a year or two ago (which is the one I'm assuming the OP is talking about?).

Well, dont take my word for it. I lived on the northshore all my life til 2006. I was just repeating what I had heard.

I think it was the one closer to Kenner. You can see the Home Depot in the background in the movie. I think the OP is talking about the one that was close to Causeway. Doesn't really matter.

I interviewed and got job offers at that Bennigans and the Friday's down the street in 1990. I took the job at Fridays.
