Best parking options for gameday? (1 Viewer)

Yes that is the Villere Lot. Like I said, I arrive between 9:30-10:00 for a noon kickoff and only about half full. $30 automated and the guy who is like lot security also can hand you a dashboard ticket and you can pay him cash as another option. Very easy jump to I-10 and zero traffic leaving the dome. It’s right at a 5 minute walk to the dome if that. I go with my 11 and 9 yr old boys. Been parking in this lot since 2006 with never an issue. Would not take them here if i did not feel it was safe. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the tip. I've been parking in the pay lot next to the Amtrak/Greyhound station for years. It's become pricey, but I've never notice a break in until the last game against the Panthers last year. Two late model pickups had their drivers side windows shattered. There was actually police working the scene as we arrived. No one messed with our Toyota Avalon. It was a day game and someone patrolled the lot because there were boots on a few vehicles.

Regarding your advice, I noticed this "Temporarily Closed" message. Could be a very old message, but giving you and others a heads up. Maybe inquire before heading up on Sunday.

Honestly, I normally park at Harrah’s. Here’s my reasoning…I’m probably going to drop ATLEAST $50 at the game on beer/drinks. So, I’ll go to harrahs, put $20 in a poker machine, get drunk for free while I play AND get my parking validated. Stroll my happy a** down Poydras with a good drunk/buzz and enjoy the game. When game is over and I walk back down Poydras, I’ve now sobered up, the mass exodus to leave the dome is over and my parking is paid for. Worth the $20 and the extra steps to me.

Bruh, last time I grilled and tailgated, my ex-wife threw up all in the row in front of us. Luckily the folks in front of us weren't there that game. Police almost threw us out because of that...

(Reason #2,563 why I divorced her...)
Meet up is sounding better and better

That actually worked for me pre-Covid. If I go in the casino now, I'm lucky to get one crap beer. One free Miller Light every 90 minutes defeats the point.

I go to garage 1A at the superdome. Easy to get into; easy coming out to get to the highway(I live an hour and a half away). Did it for all the pelican games too. I practically know that route in my sleep now.

Will be there on Sunday. Can’t wait!

Seeing accounts of people walking from Harrah's to the Dome ... it makes me wonder where older folks park who can't do those long walks to and from the Dome? If you don't have a handicapped placard, you're SOL, I assume?

You can have a handicap placard and still be SOL.

Uber will get you as far as the Benson tower even during the worst traffic.
