Article Best Player Available vs. Team Needs: What Will Guide the Saints in 2025? (1 Viewer)

Jeanty wouldn't make an impact with our offensive line. Hell, Barry Sanders or Jim Brown would not make an impact with this raggedy, mickey mouse OL of ours.

I don't think its that bad. AP center, Fuaga will be a perennial all pro as well. Penning is coming around and I'd say is serviceable atm. We need guards. I'm sure one of those will be addressed in the draft. And then you add proper offensive leadership and coaching, depth (will clap) and I think our line will be better overall next season. Pair that with good game-planning and scheme and a guy like Jeanty could do well here. Especially if you can get him and Kamara on the field at the same time. Also with Olave and Shaheed keeping defenses from loading the box, its a dangerous combo.

With the lack of 1st rd talent... I kinda think we should settle for team needs and pray we hit a couple

I don't see as many holes in the team as question marks and lack of depth.

What I mean is that the team has enough players that can play starting roles but have injury or performance concerns (because they are still developping or because they are older players).

The only position that is still up for grabs is LG, with at least two candidates to man that position (Saldiveri and Radunz).

In that sense almost every position outside of Center could be upgraded!

The team can build depth and even find players that can be upgrades in regards to certain positions... The positions that could use a definitive upgrade, IMO, are QB, WR, RB and Safety.

If it was up to me, I would leave both Oline and Dline as is and work with the players I got, which are plenty, until I find the right combination of starters and rotational players (especially on the D line).
