Biggest reach last night? (1 Viewer)

Feels like Jahmyr, just because of the general devaluation* of the position in the draft? Although of course, you normally move up (as they did) because you believe someone else will pick him first if you don't, so perhaps they were getting in at just the right time.

* AKA don't come after me if you're a Jahmyr fanboy, it's the way teams usually draft at RB that makes this feel a reach.

Jack Campbell at 14. He's a great player but I'd have tried to trade to the back of the 1st round. Campbell would have easily been there 10 picks later

Who do you think was the biggest reach(es)?
The Texans @ 2. They followed this up by trading up from #12 to # 3 and selecting Will Anderson. This
cost them next years #1 and #3. Why not select Anderson #2 if you wanted him that bad? The Texans
will most likely be drafting in the top 5 next year where the QB class will be much better than this year.

Richardson. Honorary mentions--Jahmyr Gibbs and Maxi Smith.

Kancey going to TB. He's very undersized for a starting DE in the NFL
He makes no sense in their defense. He's a penetrating 3-tech. If they ask him to hold the point of attack as a 5-tech he'll bust. They must have a plan for him but I don't see it.

While most are pointing to the Lions taking Gibbs, or the Colts taking Richardson... I think the two biggest reaches in Round 1 were at picks 15 and 16. The Jets took a 240lb DE in Will McDonald, who most had projected at the back end of the 1st or early 2nd round. Then Washington followed that up with taking a 167lb cornerback in Emannuel Forbes, when are far better CB in Christian Gonzalez was still on the board. SMH

I actually think what the Texans did was quite brilliant. Had they taken Anderson at #2, then the cost of the #3 pick from Arizona would have been much more expensive, as you would have had multiple teams trying to trade into that spot for CJ Stroud. By taking Stroud at #2, the devalued the #3 pick. The cost of what it took for them to move back up from #12 to #3, really isn't that bad when you consider the extra picks that they acquired in the trade of Deshaun Watson. They now have two potential studs to build both the offense and defense around.

Agreed, loved the move they made, no one saw it coming

Yeah didn't get taking Will McDonald. You also had Nolan Smith there if you liked that profile.
