Biggest reach last night? (1 Viewer)

The Texans @ 2. They followed this up by trading up from #12 to # 3 and selecting Will Anderson. This
cost them next years #1 and #3. Why not select Anderson #2 if you wanted him that bad? The Texans
will most likely be drafting in the top 5 next year where the QB class will be much better than this year.

Because that made Arizona's #3 worth less with the 2 QB' gone. According to Mike D, the Titans were going to try to trade up to Arizona's spot to take Stroud. With him gone that made the number 3 worth less than if he would have been there. Can you imagine what the 3 pick would have been worth if a QB would have been there and you had the Titans and Texans bidding over it?

I actually think what the Texans did was quite brilliant. Had they taken Anderson at #2, then the cost of the #3 pick from Arizona would have been much more expensive, as you would have had multiple teams trying to trade into that spot for CJ Stroud. By taking Stroud at #2, the devalued the #3 pick. The cost of what it took for them to move back up from #12 to #3, really isn't that bad when you consider the extra picks that they acquired in the trade of Deshaun Watson. They now have two potential studs to build both the offense and defense around.

Agree 100%. Texans were big winners of 1st Round. Of course, with 2 of the first 3 picks you better be or you really screwed up. Lol

Bijan was ranked by some of the talking heads as the 3rd to 4th best player in the draft. I wouldn’t say he was a reach

Atlanta picking Bijan Robinson at pick 8
As much as we may dislike it Robinson wasn’t a reach. There were some major reaches - Richardson, Forbes, and McDonald. While I like what the Saints did - stayed in their draft position, didn’t trade future picks, and took a position of need I’m not crazy about Bresee. Granted he wasn’t a reach and was selected right where was projected to be picked. His lack of consistent college production and injury history are concerning. We’ll see.

Both Lions picks were headscratchers where they took them. Both good players, but higher than expected.

Probably Will McDonald IV just because it was clear the Jets were broken up about losing Brod Jones. Their draft room when the cameras locked in was like a funeral parlor.

Emmanuel Forbes. Dude was a ballhawk. At 16. Plays at 166 pounds. If he does intercept Jalen Hurts pass. A.J. Brown is going to kill him.

It was Bijan due to positional value. You don't take a RB top 8 in 2023, unless you are a superbowl contender. Bijan will be near his second contract by the time they are relevant.
