Lol.. i knew about bit coin when it was under 100 dollars... we just used it to get weed off of silk road... well i didnt do it, a friend did it. But still if i could just tell slightly dumber me to buy 20 of them...

Yeah. I have some ETH that I have been holding for a while and it's done well - but I do regret selling the BTC that I had years ago. I think I paid a little over a $1K for about 4 BTC. It popped up to $5K and then fell back a bit. I decided to take profits. dang.

I've also been sitting on some eth for a few years. I'm ready to sell it. just not sure what the reasonable price to sell is

I don’t think there’s any reasonable or unreasonable price - it’s a new asset still. The long term chart is compelling, I think the best course is to hold it unless you really need the money.
 
So I’m pretty ignorant on all of this stuff but…

Could some of these just be money laundering schemes more so than scams?

Maybe most of this money isn’t really being “lost” or stolen, just transferred.

Possible. But certainly I’d think a lot of it is crowd sourced buyers - fools getting fleeced.
