Bobby Hebert tells the story of carrying the Lombardi Trophy in a duffle bag after partying with Sean Payton after the Super Bowl win (1 Viewer)

right after the Minnesota playoff loss when he implied on the post game show that Marcus Williams must have been on the take.
He wasn't the only one who suspected that. On The Point After right after the game, tons of fans called in angry as hell speculating the same thing. They did the next day on The Second Guess show and they called in to the WWL morning news show. It went on for weeks. Williams was being torched so much by the Who Dat Nation that it was probably wise for him to leave the city.

But didn't that same Who Dat nation also take out a Billboard to show their support for him?

Still believe he could have carried his own Lombardi and brought the first one had he not sat out that year.

I remember just as many people calling in to argue with Bobby & Deke about their stupid take--and instead of admitting they were just hot after the loss the two of them doubled down on their idiocy. It was pretty embarrassing--and I'm someone on here who actually doesn't mind Bobby

That teammate was offensive guard Steve Trapilo, a 4th round rookie at the time. Trapilo was born and raised in Boston and also played at Boston College.

Hebert put a piece of gum in place of his missing front tooth. The qoute from Trapilo was something like he had trouble understanding Hebert all year long but he was able to understand him much better that afternoon.

Trapilo died suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 39 while vacationing with his family.

Trapilo was a very, very good G, just another good player's career cut short by injuries....
