Bow Tie or Penis? (1 Viewer)

They should probably find out why the boy sees a penis rather than harassing the girl about it.
all joking aside, this is the problem i have with this...

Administrators are in a rough position. If they ignore it and something happens, they're in trouble. If they overreact (like I think they did here), they get publicly shamed. It's a no-win situation for them due to the climate parents, lawyers, and politicians have created.
There has got to be a middle ground. Have a meeting with the little girl's parents, tell them the admin doesn't think it looks like a penis but that one of the students said it did, so they have to discuss it. That's all they had to do. It absolutely does not have to be entered in the little girls record. I mean, come on man!

i get that, but sometimes, common sense just make an appearance.. If a kid tells you its a tie, its pretty darn easy to look at that and yea, i can see thats a bow tie, heck, how many times have you had to ask your child what they drew and after they told you, you were like, oh i see it now..
there is no situation here that needs to end in a write up for the child. . If the girl is gonna get written up for this, so should the little boy .. But its society, blame the girl for the boy acting inappropriately, well, you shouldn't have been dressed like that. ..

This is part of the reason the US educational system is in the horrible state that it is. Admins and boards of ed who focus on th wrong issues. I get it to some extent, if they had done nothing then some parents would have created an uproar over nothing.

I see there’s a reappearance of the fabled “permanent record”

In early grade school it seemed everything was threatened to put in our file that would follow and haunt us till our dying day

Look, I agree with you. Just trying to add some perspective from the other side.
