Brandon Ingram post cryptic post and no shows voluntary Mini-camp in California. (1 Viewer)

I think you are saying take any deal even if we have to send other assets? To dump salary? I'm not trying to be contentious, just curious.
If griffin has to send assets with BI then that is yet another reason he should be fired(it’s long overdue). Ingram does not have great value but he SHOULD be able to get a neutral offer and fill the team with better fitting pieces. He should be burning up the phones right now before camp starts in two weeks.

Im not sure why some on here and some pels fans in general are ok with going to February with BI on the roster with all of the issues outlined. The Pelicans will NOT win with the roster as currently constructed. What happens if you keep BI and the following happens?:

1. The team doesn’t fit and has a mediocre at best record further impacting his value. You’ll get an offer worse than now.

2. He gets hurt in January and destroys any little value he has left and the only option is a S&T/letting him walk. You’re going to wish you moved him in September.

My final point is that where is his fit with CJ/Zion/DJM? He’s a terrible fit with them when you need 3+D guys badly. They still have not replaced Naji/Daniels which is a problem as well.

I agree. Anything short of having to send out assets to move him is perfectly fine and acceptable and truly a net positive in terms of this team winning basketball games.

What assets would you send just to pay someone to take BI off our hands? And then what assets would we have to make any moves next offseason?

The only way I would send assets with BI is if there was a prime, stretch 5 involved.

No way would you send assets to get rid of him. At worst you let him play out the season and let him walk for nothing (or work a S&T for minimal compensation).

That's my point....nobody is taking him and giving him the contract he wants without us sending assets as well.

So what do we want DG to do? Take the best offer on the table? Is there even an adequate one? How does that benefit the Pels? IMO, the best way forward is to play BI and hope he balls out to increase his value to an unknown suitor, thus creating a market for him before the trade deadline. I don't think we will get much in return right now, but in February? Who knows?
This doesn't happen when a player is an expiring and wants a max.

No team has an incentive to trade for him for 2 months.

I do not disagree, but I don't see the Pels getting anything of value for him right now. You might as well hang on to him and hope a playoff team is interested.

Griff just said it "physically didn't make sense" for BI to train with the team over the summer given he was rehabbing his knee. BI also pretty much said he shouldn't have played in the playoff series and should have communicated this better with the team. Also said he had "up and downs" rehabbing over the summer. But feels "ready to go" now.

Take all that for what you will.

Much like the lack of transparency on his sprained toe injury. There is no way a hyperextened knee would take 4 months to recover from in the slightest unless he had another undisclosed knee injury.

ACL sprain makes sense. It took me 3 months to rehab from.

This is either truth. Or he's planning a Kawhi type move where he can just claim it's flaring up again until he's traded. We will see.
