Can we make a run? (merged) (5 Viewers)

Our path is the division, not looking like a 9-8/10-7 team is gunna make the WC this year... too big of a gap from the 2 and 3 loss teams and the rest with too few games left.

BUT

The Division is more open than people realize I think. ATL has a 2 game lead right now and are looking rough. Cousins hasn't thrown a TD in 2 weeks, and the Broncos just made the Falcons look worse than the Saints triage team with a rookie 3rd string QB at the helm.

Tampa has an easier schedule ahead, but are only half a game up with one more game to play and a head to head with New Orleans still in front of them.

I don't look at the record, I am just looking at the standings and we lose any tie break according to the Playoff Machine, so we need TB to take one more L than us before week 18 (doable) and ATL to ATL (50/50, but they look bad right now and have the toughest remaining schedule IMO)

This is where the loss to Carolina is both a blessing (in prompting Allen’s dismissal) and a curse (digging too deep a hole to realistically get out).

The only realistic path is the division and the only way that happens is if Atlanta and Tampa
lose more than us. Which means we’d have to essentially go 7-0 the remainder of the season.

Impossible? No

Improbable? Yes.

Rams, Commanders and Packers are all teams that we will have a hard time stopping and that’s only if we don’t encounter more injuries to the already depleted secondary.

Then there’s still a December trip to MetLife which is not an easy environment to play in (very windy) that time of year and a season closing date with Tampa who put a 50 burger on us last time we played.

It’s more realistic to think we give good effort but end up dropping 2-3 more games.

I sincerely hope I’m wrong - but I just feel like there’s only so much juice Rizzi can squeeze from a very thin team.

Well 3 of our 4 wins are against teams drafting before us if the season ended today..... so can we make a run.... not happening no matter how much anyone believes

honestly i'm probably the biggest optimist there is and it seems to me the season is over. unless atlanta and tampa totally tank which they wont. they would have to tank and then we'd have to literally not lose any more games.

Schedule the rest of the year isn't that tough. I like seeing wins so I don't mind what happens, however, I think it will still be a tough road the rest of the way.
I won't bet on it but Rizzi is cool

Can we get on a roll? Sure. Can we beat some of the three good teams? If the ball bounces right. But no matter how passionate, how well we are coached, there are some significant issues talent wise and injury wise. But hey if they simply keep playing to the level they are now I’m happy. And I’d love to see Rizzi be at least on the very short list of candidates if he continues down this path
