Can we see Carr clearly now? (1 Viewer)

Defense is old. Most out out draft capital has gone to offense, meanwhile we let a good amount of defensive take talent walk out the building.
True, but our run defense is really bad and we can't generate pressure even in obvious passing downs. Adebo, since his rookie year, is good for a flag or two every game. We play too much soft coverage and give up easy throws. He put Gay on Godwin too much and we kept losing that battle. Our whole D-line is bad.

Duh. No disrespect meant. This team needs to be blown up and rebuilt. Old, slow and quits at the first sign of trouble. The defense totally quit in the second half.
I don’t think they quit, I just think they got gassed after so many plays on Monday then having to play again on a short week against a team with extra rest.

I love everyone's faith that Rattler will be solid. But I think this team is more than one solid NFL quarterback from being good.

Of course they aren't, but Carr isn't going to make this team good either. So, we might as well develop Rattler and see if he can be more than solid. We know what Carr is. He's a solid QB but Rattler has the talent to be so much more. This team isn't going anywhere this season so they should find out what they have in Rattler.

Can we see clearly now that Carr may not be the shiny new object but he is the best QB right now?
Rattler is going to be a solid QB but he is not on Carr's level yet. He didn't see a lot of wide open receivers today and had under thrown balls that Carr would've hit all day.
Two things can be true at one time. Rattler has great potential but Carr is a solid QB when given a clean pocket.
They looked the same to me 🤷🏿‍♂️

Saints Draft Round 1-3 by Offense/Defense from 2015-present:
Defense: 18 picks.
Offense: 13 picks.

The draft turns into a complete mess after round 3 in terms of prospect vs payoff but for the sake of having the whole picture...

Saints Draft Round 4-7 by Offense/Defense from 2015-present:
Defense: 15 picks.
Offense: 16 picks.

So in total, since Ireland's hiring in 2015 the Saints have drafted 33 defensive players and 29 offensive players. With defense taking the majority of the high value picks.

I'm too old to embrace starts anymore. 40+ years of Saints fandom has learned to translate that into "excuse for another disappointing year".
They can never take our Super Bowl victory away tho! I’m just thankful we got one and I was alive to see and celebrate it. All gravy now. Admittedly it’s sheet gravy right now, but still gravy.

Carr has been very off on his deep balls lately. He doesn't move much either. He is lucky Rattler is just a rookie but he still may lose his gig , if not this year next year for sure.

Maybe Carr could have put us in position to score one or two more field goals but there was no way he could have helped this team win today.

It did not matter who was at QB today. If we can’t run the ball to control the clock, that gosh awful defense will get torched. The games we control the clock and tempo while letting them rest, we win, and we win easily. The games where we have to rely on them and the lack of depth on that side of the ball, we lose.

It really is that simple.

What this tells me is that getting clowned by DSnfla of all people is a golden badge of honor!
There are quite a few delusional people on here, you won't die of loneliness It also looks like you are one of those that joined just when we signed Carr to come he and promote hate
