Carr’s interception at the end of the game (1 Viewer)

Shaheed made zero effort to get to the ball. Two steps to the left and he's between the ball and the defender. Worst case scenario is an incompletion. But the ball should never have been thrown in that situation.
The ball that was thrown five yards behind him. Carr threw off his back foot with no velocity…that wasn’t going to be completed. It was a prayer…bad pass by Carr

As to Shaheed, he had a TD in his hands earlier in the game. That's the one he should have caught.

True, but Shaheed likely would have had two TDs had Carr thrown the ball about a foot longer which would have made for much easier catches. Of course, Carr was under tremendous pressure all game long which makes the underthrows understandable.

100%. Carr is not very good with middle pressure. He just doesn't have natural side to side movement in the pocket, only front to back.

I disagree with this take. He gave his guy an opportunity to make a clutch play; why would any starting QB expect his emerging star WR to be lolly-gagging, not even looking for the ball in that situation?

I know we all love Shaheed, and he’s one of my favorite players on the team, but if he does what most WRs of his ilk does in those situations and simply pays attention, at absolute worst, it’s an incomplete pass, but more likely, it’s a clutch reception at a critical moment.

Drew Brees did something very similar at the end of the 2018 NFC Championship Game…was that an eternal rookie mistake too?
Drew's arm was hit on that play which is why it got intercepted. You can put this one on Rasheed or just admit Carr should have thrown it away! I don't care if it would have been intentional grounding or a loss of down. Anythign was better than what he did.

Ultimately, we lost the game when we lost McCoy.
Man…I think the defense letup on the long Barkley. Was it not the play after Smith got concussed? It was almost like the defense thought the drive was over.

Oh…and the short yardage playcalling turnover on downs and failed two point conversion playcalling was brutal. That was Carmichael-esque

The diagnosis is simple, when we are not getting beat in the trenches we look smooth and polished and score at will. If we face a big strong defensive line that can not be pushed out of the way we will see struggles and a QB throw up a prayer for a big play to try to win the game. I hope our center is back for next game or we may continue to struggle.

Remember that Tampa Bay game when Brees was trying to come from behind and threw an INT... then the next drive threw an INT.

Brees must've had a double eternal rookie mistake then.
Drew was 90 years old and playing with 1 arm.... Just sayin
