First off, this is strictly my opinion and I wouldn't even call it speculation because I'm not privy to inside info like some are. I'm just a die hard #whodat.

I think Derek Carr is key to a OC change. He can be politically correct and all in front of the media but we all know that venom on the sideline was aimed straight at Pete Carmichael. I also believe that it was the result of a culmination of things and he's not a happy camper with Pete (To me) Old folks useta pressure will bust a pipe and that's what we saw on the sideline. Trust me, Carr is prideful and not only does he want to win he wants a better performance for himself and the poor play calling is not conducive to that at all!

So, where am I going with this?

I think Derek Carr has the ear of Dennis Allen. I think he can and has begun chirping to him that Pete ain't it. Seriously I think there has been some conversations. Now, has DA gone up the food chain to Loomis about it is where I have my doubts. 🤔

But, the team is married to Carr to the tune of 150 Million and I can definitely see Loomis doing whatever it takes to solidifying the offense even if it took firing a guy that's been on the staff as long as Pete has.

I think DA put too much faith in Pete. When Payton was here, and we didn't have a good DC, we struggled and the defense was one of the worst in history. When we had Greg Williams and then DA, Payton could focus on what he does best which is scheming for the offense side of the ball. We are in the opposite situation where DA can make sure our defense is top 10, but he needs a competent OC to run that side of the ball. Pete hid under Payton and Brees all that time and got too much credit for the being the OC. Its obvious he's not the guy we need. Bad o-line play aside, we need a change at OC. Like you said, we are married to Carr for now. Re-tooling the O-line isn't going to happen mid-season. Our best option is to make a change at OC and hope someone new can scheme a better offense that works with our weakness.

Yes, but he continues to roll with this garbage offense. Leads me to believe this is the crap he wants him to run, which is mind boggling.

often when it comes to starting qb or cord the cord is the one that looses,

Yes, we do need a new coordinator but I would also put Carr on notice as well and draft a QB in the early rounds even though Haener is on the payroll.

I don’t think it was AT Pete. Only because he’s new. I think he’s yelling to Pete about players not doing their Effing job. Even the players said, don’t rant at the coaches it’s on us. But maybe what Pete is asking them to do is too damn much. Forth and four, AK behind the line ? Anyone know what happened here? I know MT a sort of missed a block? Im not sure.

Either way you can't have an NFL team looking that discombobulated with the game on the line. There were obvious mistakes made from a coaching perspective. Questionable moves and efforts by players can always come back to a lack of leadership.

I think he's just not going to fire PC during the season out of respect for him and his tenure here with the organization, but to not remove play calling duties from him is what I do not understand as it does not take the title of OC away from PC but just the responsibility of play calling away, is this a shot against Curry as offensive play caller / coordinator, is Curry on the roster in the same compacity that PC was when Payton was running the offense just as a clipboard holder.

Pete calls plays like he's got '12 Drew Brees and that offensive line at his disposal.

I think he will, following Thursday's game.

Absolutely. Sean would cut bait on whoever is repetitively not “doing their job”.

Has anyone stopped to think that maybe Shaheed and Olave are part of the problem as well? Shaheed is only in his second season and was mainly brought in as a return specialist. His speed and playmaking ability is awesome but his route running and awareness of where he needs to be is sometimes not that great. Olave has been shown on film throttling down on routs and occasionally not knowing his assignments. That totally screws with the timing of plays and probably leads to Carr holding the ball more often than not.

Is DA doesn't make a move on Pete, I think he is digging his own grave. If Pete remains OC the rest of the year, thats basically saying I have no answers and no will to find answers. I get the strategy of not making drastic moves in the middle of a season and creating panic, but this isn't that situation. DA needs to make a serious adjustment in an attempt to turn this season around. Otherwise, its his head on the chopping block too. I don't know if Curry taking over will be enough. If that doesn't work out either, can you say DA really did all he could to fix the season?
