Carr, Olave, Kamara, Means are out (5 Viewers)

Just think back to mid-September we all had visions of first round byes and number one seeds dancing around in our heads.

Couldn’t help the Christmas pun.

How far we have descended. I can even look forward to the spring either since the pelicans are just about dead last in the NBA.

Well there always is Mardi Gras I guess.
Ragin’ Cajuns baseball season opener is February 14!

Man it doesn’t matter who’s out right now. I’d rather all the core players just sit the rest of the season including Rattler lol
Rattler needs reps against NFL teams if he's going to have any chance at becoming a starting NFL QB. The next coach may want to have some confidence that there is a serviceable option behind Carr if they can find a way to move on from him.

33-10 vs the Broncos count?

I suppose technically that’s a blowout, but what I am talking about is one of those drubbings where it is like 21-0 in the first quarter and we just never recover. Just an absolute, true laid egg type game, 45-3 massacre type ish.

That’s what I’m envisioning for tomorrow.

It’s been awhile since we have seen a 41-3/45-10 absolute Saints stinker, hasn’t it?
The Saints simply cannot win the game tomorrow night. It’s not even going to be a good indicator of what kind of QB Rattler can be. It’s much more likely that his stock will go way down after this nightmare of a game. I hate that the team even has to play this game. 😢

True, but he needs reps with some serviceable players around him. He’ll just be a sitting duck in this game. Nothing good for him can come out of this game.

I certainly hope he doesn't take too many unnecessary hits. But even just taking snaps under center, hearing McCoy call protections, making NFL plays on the outside, getting used to NFL DBs speed, and things like that are all good things for him to get more reps doing. These last 3 games will be the most real work he'll get until preseason snaps against generic defenses.

I don't know if he has a chance at being the future but he needs that practice if he's going to be and it would be nice if he could hit the ground running instead of getting that development early next season.

do you think the Pelicans will EVER be good?

With us being eliminated and pretty much no chance to get top 5 pick, I'd rather the team just play their hearts out win or lose. Just put effort and use that opportunity for their spot next year. Anything else or anyone under-performing can be looked at as not worth keeping if it came down to it. Just my opinion.

Probably #10 pick, which is not bad. Play to win.

At this point no one should play thru their injuries Just get rest and fully heal.

This is a part of the unofficial NFL team tanking protocol. Right next to “Getting a look at some of our younger players who haven’t played much,” along with some highly questionable fourth down and game-management decisions.

Look out for weird stuff occurring on game-winning kick/game-clinching situations throughout the league with some of these bad teams as well.

If players aren't putting their all into their performance these last three games, it will be hard for whatever regime that takes over in 2025 to justify keeping any player who may just be going through the motions. Most of our players should be looking at these games as a job audition.
